Prairie City, IA United States | Finally got the opportunity to ride a new vintage Indian today. It is a nice bike with a great sound. I rode it about 10 miles before taking it back to the dealer. Although I love the styling it does have a few things that I am not a fan of. Having al the gauges on the tank vs. the dash is an issue for a full face helmet wearer like me. You have to look down to see anything. This one had a windshield on it and I will say that there wasn't any buffeting without lowers. Of course the wind on my legs took a little getting used to from riding behind a full fairing. Slow speed handling is very good on the Indian. Very light and nimble.
The Vision in my opinion has set the bar for riding comfort so high that I am not sure I can be happy on anything but a Vision. I have been spoiled with the creature comforts it offers. If they would put the Indian engine on a Vision they will have come as close to perfection as you can. |

A couple of reasons. 1. It is so smooth and the transmission is quiet. Other than that no real big advantage that I could see. |

NE Florida Jacksonville | I can see no reason why Victory can't adopt the same design for transmission gears as Indian. Perhaps that might be a selling point for the 2015 model. That alone would reduce the engine noise that echoes back to the rider. Due to the overhead cam there will always be a degree of noise because of the long chains involved. Reducing just the transmission gear noise would make me trade my 2010 for a new 2015 Vision. I look forward to picking up my new Indian Chief Vintage on Wednesday, but still keep my Vision for long distance riding. I have the S1L2 pipes well seasoned and they sound pretty good. Cruising in 5th gear is enjoyable at speeds from 45 up to 70. Above 70 6th gear is used but that brings out the increase of gear noise. Sigh, I just wear my full face helmet to combat the noise.
Around town my new Indian will be a blast to ride, and yes that engine sounds wonderful.

I still have the drop of the hat permission to get an Indian. I know if I was to get one, I would wait until they had it on the showroom floor and I could ride away with it. The problem I have is I know I will be giving up everything that the Vision provides that I feel a motorcycle should be. I was thrown over the top when I finally sat on a Chief Vintage like I thought I would be, nor did it send shivers up my spine like I had envisioned for so long anticipating the NEW Indian. Even at the dealer I was admiring the King Mountain Indians because they sat more like my Vision than the new Polaris Indians. I'm hoping that the next Indian will be the Scout that will sit lower in the saddle, I think I could go for that. As far as the power goes, I still like how the Vision is geared. |

We could afford to add another bike to the stable but my wife isn't ready to yet. Her choice will most likely be a Chieftain since she rides a CR and isn't giving up the saddlebags for their size. Me, I am still loving the Vision. Like I said "Damn Vision Anyway" has me spoiled so much that it will be hard to ride anything else. |

Sand Rock, AL United States | Local Indian dealer keeps calling me . We speak for a minute . I just keep a good relationship with them . He says "what do I have to do to get you on an Indian?" I tell him "it is on my short list of next bikes" that's a list of 2. Like Chris, it didn't give me that "I have to have this " feeling like the Vision did (my 99 V92C did too) . Don't misunderstand , I do like it but I don't have to have it. The mroe time that passes it becomes just a nice bike not THE ALL NEW 2014 INDIAN CHIEF WITH THE 111" THUNDERSTROKE. So, while I like it , I'm glad I'm not rich and didn't impulse buy it, although a numbered version would be cool. I still have at least 4 more years of riding my Vision. If I had to guess right now, I would probably buy a new Vision at that time considering what is out right now at this moment in time. But i didn't tell him that. He says "so I'll call you around December?" i said "sure" .  Who knows what Victory and Indian will have in 4 years , either or both could put out game changers. This is all kind of random, I just type out loud sometimes  |

There is so many things that I gave up to go with the Vision. My early days of riding I did it on a CB750 Custom, loved that bike, loved it better when I put on the fairing. I could ride longer, in colder temps and in bad weather, than the body could stand without it. It is truly a rare breed that will ride like without the wind protection, and even they have a breaking point. So, I'm thankful the Vision gives all that can be found in a motorcycle for me, V-Twin, narrow profile, comfortable seat, large floorboards and weather protection that make you feel like you're in a cage. |

Glendale, AZ United States | My buddies and I did a Indian Demo ride here in AZ. I don't know what I was expecting, but it really didn't float my boat either. If Polaris is in the market to revive some of the dinosaur bikes I would like to add a few to the mix. From first appearances, the Indian does have a better fit and finish then the Vision, which has been my gripe with the VV since day one, plenty of power, and shifted like butter. I liked the engine/tranny combo a lot on the Indian in addition to keyless start, which kind of threw me for a loop considering this is definitely a retro-styled motorcycle. I am all about utility and function, which is the case with most VV riders. I could care less that I'm riding a "Jetson's" bike and don't care if I look cool not to mention I have never purchased a motorcycle based on styling. Quite frankly, styling would not even be on my top ten list. When I want styling, I will have my wife call up her interior decorator friend to pick out a paint color to match the new couch in the living room. The Vision does the job it was designed to do extremely well in stock mode and needs nothing to be an efficient long-distance tourer.
An Indian Chieftain for 23K to be used as a bar hopper? I'm sure the Chieftain folks will keep the bike stock, yeah right. So now folks will have a 27K bar hopper? Spend it if you got it, but for me I would prefer to spend my hard earned money on something else. Maybe a sports tourer parked next to my VV in the garage for those "kick in the ribs" quick days before my knees are completely shot I would go for. |

| for a $160 bucks and put in a Lloydz wheel and the motor smooths out un believable. I can pack more then I need in the bags.

| I have had problems with my 2011 vision tour in fact it's at Volusia motorsport now for new tranny with only 30k on it. So went over to Daytona to ride the Indian Chieftian Brother even with all my troubles I would not trade my Vision for it even if they offered boot. |
