I recently purchased the 2013 Vision Tour Model and had a wonderful experience doing so. However, after reading the owners manual after my purchase let me know that while the salesperson was honest in the deal, his knowledge of the product was less than 100 percent! (the fork DOES lock when you turn the key to the LOCK position) Therefore, I would like to pose this question, can I use a HD cigarette lighter in the cigarette power port located in the glove box without blowing a fuse?

Ahhhhhhhhhh, he gasped. Blasphemy!! OMG! Did you really? HD on a Vic? Ohhhhhhh, no! Yes, Maybe, NO, sometimes, wait, ok, but ONLY if you promise never to smoke or light anything with the HD lighter.

In reality, I have no idea. But the worst than can happen is a blown fuse so WTF, give it a whirl and let us know how it works out for you.

Get an adapter from your VIC dealer and plug your lighter into that, that's how I charged my i phony on the bike. Adapter cord into lighter cord and then the phone. Made a hell of a mess so I just started shutting the phone off until I got somewhere I could stop. I'm one of those who gets in the car or on the bike to GET AWAY from the friggin' phone!!! I don't even turn the radio on when on the road, can't hear it and the reception is lousy.
I also quit smoking 20 years ago.

Is correct. They used to have a powerlet plug but changed to a cigarette style a couple years ago which is why those of us with the older visions need an adapter.

If you want to actually have a cigarette lighter there are some aftermarket ones that mount on the handle bars or the frame.

As an example.

This is only necessary on 08 and 09. From 10 forward, the receptacles are standard cig lighter style.

Any cig lighter, even HD, should plug right in. However, having never done so, I can't address whether or not there would be any heat issues. I highly doubt it though, unless the thing gets stuck in the depressed position and never pops up.

I'm a smoker though, so I think I'll buy a lighter and try it myself.

I thought I would ask the members of this forum prior to blowing a fuse, however I can report that with the proper lighter element, it works fine - no issues.

I also found the Vic dealers to be clueless about product knowledge. I visited 3 dealers while shopping for my Vision and they all had difficulty answering basic questions about the bike's features.
I asked all three where the gas tank filler was and none of them had a clue?! One dealer rolled a 2013 Vision out for my test ride and flooded it trying to start it, that made for a big black cloud in the showroom when she finally came to life. It only had 2 miles on it. That was the sales manager, the one that couldn't find the fuel filler.
Victory should really make sure that their dealers are properly trained on product knowledge.

I asked my salesman to give me a quick walkaround before I rode off. He yelled (over his shoulder as he walked away), "it's got 2 wheels, just ride it!". I said I didn't even know where the fuel filler was. He asked if I'd ever ridden a bike before (only about 30 years worth, thank you). He said, "You put gas in, you start it up, you ride it.". What a dick.

Each time that you cycle the key and cut-off switch, the electric fuel pump dumps fuel into the throttle body. If you do that three or four times you will have a pool of fuel sitting on top of your intake valves and or top of your pistons, and a flooded engine.

The salesman warned me of this as he went through the bike with me when I picked it up from the dealer.

I have used the port in my glovebox as a lighter on my 2011 but it's a PITA. My hands too big and it's a tough angle. I bought this lighter on Amazon cheap and mounted it to my handlebar.
