It's really simple. Just open your fuel door and extra storage door next to your radio. Then slowly pull up the V portion in front of your seat. There is two hex head bolts. one on each side. Once you remove those bolts the seat can be moved foraward and then you can lift it right off. If you have heated seats make sure you disconnect the connection to the seat. The VOG.net has a video on this but i think it's an all in one on how to remove your trunk, seat, etc. Good luck.

Here is a video that shows an untrained monkey removing the seat and cutting some wires. After he is done he puts it back on.

Be careful not to drop the washers that go with the screws that hold down the front of the seat.

You really should open the gas door to remove the center panel.

Gee we need a video on how to remove the seat. Why not read your manual and learn about your bike.

john frey,

People learn in different ways. Some learn by reading, others by watching and some will not learn unless they are taught interactively with a mentor or instructor and finally there are some people that cannot be taught at all.

There is a great reluctance by many motorcycle owners to turning wrenches on a $20,000 plus bike. Most of the doubt can be erased if they see some idiot do the same job on Youtube.

I am that idiot!
So I have created some videos to help Vision owners do some basic work on their rides like:
2008 Victory Vision Left Bag Cover Alignment
Victory Vision Middle Brake Light Modification
Victory Vision MSF ERC Box
Victory Vision Oil Change
Utopia Backrest Installation - Victory Vision
Replace Oil Pressure Switch - Victory Vision
Victory Freedom 106 CI Cutaway Engine

In total these videos have been viewed over 25,000 times....a fact that I find quite strange. Shouldn't these people be out riding?

radioteacher - thanks _very_ much, I've seen a couple of your videos on other mods and truly appreciate your contributions!

john frey - real quick: I purchased my vision used with no manual so using vision-rider forums for now (thank goodness you aren't the only one here) - bite me.

I must admit I read the entire 2008 Victory Vision owners manual but not the entire 2008 Victory Vision service manual.

Maybe it is time for a reread of the owners manual.

I too bought off Craigslist and got no paperwork or manuals. I downloaded the service manual from the internet and a year later am still having an absolute ball reading this blog, and learn something new every other day or so, including the seat thing today. Not that I couldn't figure it out, but it just hadn't occurred to me to want to remove the seat yet. But I guarantee it'll be easier having watched first. I saw a vid of (probably RT) some guy changing his oil with extra virgin olive oil (supposedly), awhile back, what a hoot. Now the sequential turn signal thing is on my mind, just gotta figure out how to pony up the scratch, and there's a vid there, too. Sounds like a terrific idea, now that I know how to remove the seat. So there ya go, JF, now go bite jcolson! BTW-doesn't James Bond always cut the RED wire?

(=0>

(Of course, with the world ending and all, it's probably moot as to whether the new turn signals will be of any use. So maybe I can save the dough!)

Yes, I was the idiot that made the Olive Oil Video...I made it to post with any oil threads.

I love the comment posted last month on Youtube about the Olive Oil video.....

#bmxiscore wrote "okay its motorCYCLE not not mortorsickle and second its not bertonelli its frickin BERTOLLI you wanna be Italian hillbilly"

My response was "Thank you for the corrections. I am humiliated and embarrassed. I have fired the writers, the continuity team and my speech coach!"

The KansasGuardsman here on Vision-Riders.com is great at reading the Vision schematics. He was the first to come up with the Middle Brake Light mod as far as I know. Everyone here that meets him should buy him a meal to thank him for his help.

I wonder how many rear end wrecks of Visions he has prevented?

Ride Safe and when Rapture comes I hope I am riding my Vision!!!!!

Paul.....on the middle brake light mod......2011s have a different connector......the pins are held in place buy a clamp, which is part of the connector....you have to release that clamp and the pins will push right out!! VERY easy! Even a caveman can do it!

It would be nice to see a picture of the connector and clamp on the new bikes. We can put it in the Tech Section and I can update the Video data with the information.

Radioteacher; Your vidios are very much appreciated by most of us on this forum and are very well done. That is what we need and a little less sarcasm in the tone of JF
