I noticed a couple weeks ago that I had a tail light out. Now since its a major pain in the ass to change a bulb on the Vision I started looking for a led replacement and just change all six and be done with it. I found a bulb made by Philips it's a 3157 replacement and has a 12yr guarantee. They call it the VisionLED 12840B2. I was just wondering if any of you guys have installed these and what you think.

I haven't bought them yet. These things are about $25 for a two pack so I want to make sure they're going to be a good replacement.

wow those better last for 12 years for being $12.50 each.. do they have lumen rating ? the last thing you would want to do it , spend $75 + on 6 bulbs and they be Less bright..

just found this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q2Z1xFIgDnw

I bought mine from superbrightleds.com and they were ~$25 each. But, they are as bright as the incandescent. The brightness is the trick..... I did buy some $12 ones, but they were about as bright as a candle. Most of them seem to lose 2 leds pretty quick. The expensive ones have been good.

I found a couple reviews on them and they said they're just as bright as the incandescent bulbs. What I'm looking for is longevity, I hate having to tear the ass end of my bike apart just to change a bulb.

It not that bad to change out the lights, I just took mine apart a couple a weeks ago and it took maybe 10 mins. Didn't even have to remove the trunk.
Remove the rear bumper(or what ever it's call), open the side bag lids, remove the license plate, lift up very carefully the "W" panel, remove the screws that hold the light in place and you're there.

I removed my actual entire light housing and I didn't think it was a big deal....

It's a good time to inspect, not a big deal to change a bulb, but it is a big deal if you have problem that could do some damage you could of caught changing a bulb. But who am I, I think dumb.

There are several threads on here about replacing incandescents with LEDs. You will need to add a resistor with heat sink to the brake circuit (connected before and after the LEDs). The cruise control is always looking -12V, meaning there's a complete path from the negative post on the battery, back to the cruise control via the brake circuit. LEDs, being diodes act as one way streets and don't allow the flow in that direction. I used a 25ohm resistor to complete that circuit. You could probably use a bigger resistor for a smaller amp draw if you want.

MBWs replacement turn module will work great for correcting the fast blinker problem without having to add a load manager for those lights as well.

we don't have red lens to let the LED's to shine threw so they will not look that bright.

Light have nothing to do with cruise control. Where do you get crazy ideas like that

Does not matter, use red LEDs. White LEDs give off the same lumens as red, but all other colors except red get filtered out by the red lens, cutting the lumens in half. A red LED generates the full lumens in only the red frequency band and completely passes thru a red filter without being diminished.
