This might sound dumb, but as I didn't buy my Vision new, I really am not sure about this, but no buttons on the handlebars light up / back-light. Makes it sometimes tough at night and I assume they should, but all the fuses look good so I figure maybe there's a wire yet disconnected. Can anyone shed and "Light" (pun intended)

I dont believe they do...but wish they did...much easier to find at night.,,especially the pods with radio and cruise control. The other buttons are in the normal places and are second nature to find with your thumbs.

The only handlebar button that lights up is a red dot when you turn the cruise control on.  No other ones.  The top three switches on the console for the heated grips, HID light and emergency flashers are not backlit either.

OK, thanks for the replies Gents! I guess all is "Normal" for me then, but I agreed backlighting would be a great thing...I honked my horn last night looking for the volume button - and MY horn is LOUD!! After that I take a little more time ensuring my thumb is in the correct "spot" before I push.

without going and digging up old posts, this was a hot issue over a year ago if I recall. some folks were/are upset that Victory would put a tour bike without lighted buttons, and others suggested to take time to memorize where they are. Having over 1100 flight hours I can say I know where everything is by heart, with no problem. Yes, I've turned up my volume when I was trying to blow the horn and vice versa. Even the other day I was trying to figure out why my cruise wouldn't engage but noticed the radio getting louder. but neither situation has anything to do with lighted buttons. I would rather know where everything is without taking my eyes off the road. I just wish I could dim my dash lights sometimes, even my old goldwing let me do that....

I don't think it is any different then stealing a glance in your mirrors, or glancing at your tack or speedo...I don't make a habit of staring at any control or switch riding down the road??..like I said and agree with other posts in this thread...most of your controls are just memory..I cant say I have 1100 flight hours but 32 years of street riding should stand for some type of competence??...and still be breathing.. LOL...but i don't think there is a rider out there that can say they never stole a glance at something other then looking straight out the windscreen?? Just my 2cents...plus your bike isn't always moving when its dark..I guess its just more of a convenience thing.

i wasn't agreeing or disagreeing, and have accepted the Vision as it is. Perhaps later down the road they'll light up but in the mean time we'll just have to cope.

I'm constantly stealing glances, even at the buttons so I can get good thumb/finger placement....

If you had a faster motorcycle like the BLACK and CHROME you could get there before dark and not have to worry about it!!

Nice. I agree. But dimly back-lit lights would be awesome. If someone invents it, I would buy it.

I like the fastblackandchrome the best too.

Stealing a glance is one thing, but lighted switches would cause a distraction while you read what the button said. Muscle memory is what is needed for this stuff

It took me some time to stop hitting the horn instead of the turn cancelling switch LOL and with the Stible horn i scared the crap out of the people i was next to, including me a couple times.
I swear to this day i think i gave a little old lady a heart attack. I didnt look back !
