I've installed my Zumo 660 on both my 2010 and 2011 with no problem using the GPS plug wires under the console. I've always wired it:

Red > Red
Black > Black/White
Purple > Blue/Orange
Orange > Grey/Blue

This time it doesn't work. The GPS powers up and the sound from the GPS is muted when its in its cradle as normal but it doesn't announce over the bike's speakers. The GPS mute is off, volumes are all 100% as normal but NG. I'm going to ask the dealer if they have to do something but they don't know much about this stuff. Anybody had any issues with a '12 or '13?

Thanks,
Marc

try setting the master volume on the gps to 100% and the other two volumes to 80% I had what you described happen on my 12 when I had one of the other volumes set to 100%

I think I might have found something. When I put it in the cradle even with the bike turned off the sound from the GPS itself stops. I tried the same thing with the cradle on my other bike and the sound continues so I'm wondering if there might not be a couple of wires shorted somewhere in the harness. I'm going to take a close look at where I cut it and see if I haven't inadvertently shorted something out.

I'm trying to understand what the issue is here. You should be plugging the connector that comes out of the cradle directly into the GPS connector on the bike. There shouldn't be any splicing or tapping going on. It's plug and play.

As many others here have, I'm not using the Victory supplied mount and harness. I'm using the original Zumo 660 mount and harness. I'm simply bypassing the OE jack and wiring it direct to its leads. The point is that I've done the same thing on my '10 and '11 bikes but the voice isn't coming through on the radio this time. It seems like Victory has changed something. The dealer is trying to find out what. Sorry if I didn't explain what I was doing in the original post.

Why not just get the victory cradle and be done with it?

Because I prefer to have the GPS closer to my eyes. I have it mounted on the l/s by the clutch master cylinder. I doubt very much that using their cradle is going to make any difference. I think there is something that the dealer needs to do in order to activate the NAV feature. I'll let you know when I get it worked out.

I had the same problem with my 2008 and had no solution can only be solved and not very well with the sound if you connect a jack on the bike and the other jack that comes with the gps

I just bought my 2013 Vision. First of all I love the bike. I traded a 2011 Harley Road Glide FLTRX 103 and do not regret it for one moment. I think Victory for the most part is a very forward thinking company. I am disappointed that in the area of options; primarily GPS, Victory made a bad deal with Garmin.

I was told initially that I would be able to hook up a Garmin GPS and use it through the radio. I thought this was awesome, but didn't realize I was only going to be limited to only one GPS unit (660) that costs over a thousand dollars with mount, GPS, and installation.

Why didn't Victory have more options so we could choose a smaller GPS if we wanted, a ram mount that would hook up to their factory plug to be used with the radio. I thought going to a Victory would reduce of the Harley sting every time you wanted to add an option to your bike.

Even though I can afford the option for the Victory GPS I will now choose something different in protest of forcing us to be held hostage to one option. I love the look of the Vision Console. Placing a mount for GPS in the middle detracts from the look.

I have been searching forums for the past few weeks and have been hoping to find someone who has been able to bypass the wiring issue so I can use another Garmin, Tomtom, etc...to use with the Victory's radio. If you are out there I would greatly appreciate your input and advice.

I don't mind paying a fair price for a reasonably priced product. The overprice and lack of other options is my big issue. As far as the bike goes it is the best bike I've owned. I've had Yamaha, Honda, Harley, Kawasaki. Victory is an awesome bike! I wish that Victory would make their aftermarket products awesome as well regarding price and options available.

Victory could make it a little easier for folks. I never understood why they wouldn't just give you a bare pigtail connector with the bike that is easily identified what each wire does. Not everyone wants a Garmin. They may just want different mounting options too.

@Marc, are you connecting your GPS wires under / at the radio or the factory GPS connector to the right of the radio?

I'm looking at a 2012 wiring diagram and here is what I see at the gps connector:
P1 Nav switched power R
P2 Nav audio ground GY/BU
P3 Nav audio input left BU/OR
P4 Nav ground BK/W
P5 Nav audio input right BU/PK

I verified those pins to the 34 pin diagram as well. I think gps voice is one channel. Haven't wired mine yet but that makes sense to me if voice and interrupt is the right channel. Hope this helps.

MOTORBIKE supports any GPS ZUMO 660, NO NEED TO BUY THE SUPPLIED BY VICTORY, BUT IF YOU WANT TO HEAR THE GPS FOR MOTORCYCLE SPEAKERS have two options:
1. - THROUGH A JACK.
2. - SUPPORT THROUGH VICTORY SELLING.
THE BIKE DOES NOT DIRECTLY CONNECTING CABLES, EARLIER MODELS 2008 AND 2009 IF NOT admitted but new

That is the same wiring I believe as the 2011 which worked fine. I never could get my 2013 to work using the exact same connections, etc. I really think Vic did something Orwellian which makes us buy their harness in order for it to work. Maybe I'm just being paranoid but I can't come up with any other explanation. Has anyone got it to work with a 2013 without buying their harness?
