Has anyone suggested to the factory that it could be fun and interesting to ship an engine/trans setup for a VISION to PJD Design (Paul Teutels shop) and have him design a custom bike around the power package instead of using a boring S&S yet again?

my guess is, endorsements with the show.? and or availibity of parts and service for their motors later if a customer needs it. you can get S&S parts from just about any motorcycle catalog. cant say that for victory motors. plus S&S has some BIG motors as well! 124, 145 etc.

Why would you ever think about Sanford and Son ( the tuetels)
Never got into the show my Dad would never talk to me or any one the way the old man does If they didn't have guys to design bikes for them they would be nobodys. Besides tuetels don't build motors they by them.
If they wanted radical custom bikes they have the Ness staff that could do as good if not better and I do believe better for sure.

Let's see, don't we all like to brag about how reliable and dependable our running gear and bikes are and we don't need no steenken' dealer every three blocks or have new members ride 'drag' to pick up stuff thats fallen off?
If they built engines, the show would be called 'HORSEPOWER' and would be on SPIKE on the weekends sandwiched between the Canadian yard dwarf dunebuggy guy and the two truck guys.
99+% of the PJD/OCC bikes get all their miles between the finish of the build and the delivery, as it's pretty impractical to drive a RIDLER AWARD winner to the store or take the kids to soccer practice, they're more like easily transportable sculptures. 'put the snow tires on the Maserati'
Haven't seen much new and groundbreaking out of Ness in quite a while, just small, add on items like pegs and grips.
Time to step over the side of the box, put the paradigm in second gear, think creatively. I thought this group was forward thinking, not a bunch of old goofs that argue the differences between BUICK and OLDMOBILE blue sedan paint while awaiting your turn on the shuffleboard court.
As far as the way they talk to each other, in some families that is how they talk to each other naturally, I agree that some of it is I believe put on, but I also think Sr. has some split personality issues. I've worked for aircraft overhaul places where the accepted modes of normal conversation, both for men and women involved a verb, a pronoun, and a direct assessment of everything in every sentence and no one batted an eye.

Product placement works, the Myth Busters Sidecar Bike is a Victory, and it has brought the name to thousands who would have never heard it

I would hate to have a Vic engine sent to the Tutels, id rather not have Vic associated with those tools in any way

Why?

It's my opinion that shows like this, and the several others that have been on in the last several years, have really helped keep the bike manufacturers afloat. Particularly the American manufacturers.

They have introduced the world of motorcycles to the mainstream masses, and that's good for business.

It doesn't matter if you're a hardcore 1%er, or if you're someone who is like me (rides a lot, but doesn't neccesarly "live the lifestyle". The more people are aware of, and maybe even involved with, the motorcycling community the better. Even if they never actually straddle a bike. There's a reason these shows do well. Hell, look at how well Sons of Anarchy is doing. Wild Hogs did pretty well too.

Bikes have gotten a lot better since I started riding. The reason for that is because there are compelling (read financial) reasons for manufacturers to improve their product. No bike company could stay afloat if they had to depend on the "hardcore" bikers to support them. It's why you can always find a good deal on a low mileage, several years old bike.

My first cross country trip (well, half way and back) was on a 1978 Kawasaki 750. I put a LOT of miles on those bikes. I had two of them, I alternated them for parts donors! I have to tell you, my current bike is just a little more comfortable, reliable, and attractive!

The 750 KAW was a better balanced bike than HONDAS 750 4 cyl that was very top heavy and steered like a loaded oil tanker on ice.

Yep, but when I used the Kawi for long distance rides, I would have so much weight strapped to the back of it that the front end sometimes felt like it was floating! Ahhhh, the good ol' days! No windscreen, no adjustable suspension, no stereo, crappy headlight, finicky carburator, oil the chain at every fuel stop, bench seat. The list goes on!

I actually used a condom to replace a carburator diaghram that split once. Didn't last long, but got me there! Can't imagine using that sort of fix on any modern bike!

I'd use it to travel to temporary duty assignments. Big ol' army issued large rucksack strapped to the back seat. Made a good backrest though.

My wife threw out my old leather jacket that had a hole worn where the aluminum crossmembers of the rucksack rubbed against it. I almost cried when I found out!

Just buy a Victory and hang Xmas decorations on it and it will look like every bike Orange County A$$holes ever built.
Now if you said Jesse or Russel I would agree. Jesse built from scratch or a high performance Victory in flat black would be cool.
It's amazing how a bunch of adults acting like whiney little kids can still be on the air. Doesn't say much about the American public does it...

What!!! Pauleys favorite tool is a hammer! and I've always thought those step drills were for those too lazy to measure. Keep them away from MY Vision!
