I'm toying with the idea of installing a center-stand on my 2009 Vision. I live in Fargo so there really aren't many uneven roads to deal with and not many twisties to worry about. ( unfortunately ) . My thought is that I could remove the down stand during the summer and re install it for winter storage to keep the bike stable. Has anyone else done this? If it is a viable option I will be looking to find a used stand out there in the Vision - Riders world. Any thoughts?

just so you know.. a center stand for the vision will NOT lift the rear wheel off the ground.. now saying you were looking for that .. i just wanted you to know before hand..

I think Witchdoctor's has a centerstand if I remember correctly. The Vision's the first bike I've had in years that didn't have a centerstand and I sure miss it but they're fairly expensive. An alternative, if you have the room, is a bike lift. You can pick one up brand new for under $75 bucks and I use it on my bike here in Michigan to get it off the cement floor during the winter...and it makes it easier to do some of those minor servicing things.

Ditto on the bike lift / Jack. Use mine all the time.

Anyone using the "PitBull" lift? Worked great on my '80 HD shovelhead, but can't get it to fit under the Vic well enough to trust it to lift it up and keep it steady, even after tying it down to the lift!!

Thanks for the input Brothers, I do no need to lift the back wheel off the ground, just trying to get it off the edge of the tire and save some space in the garage. I will look into the bike lift, Any particular models work best on the vision?

If you are just looking to save garage space consider a front wheel chock. I mounted a Harbor Freight #60392 (on sale for $40) to the floor just to do what you have in mind. After one near problem when parked in neutral I decided to place a jack stand under each tip over when it is parked just as added insurance. Has worked great for me and the price is right.

Bought a center stand from Witchdoctors last year and I love it. They are manufactured by a guy in Montana by the name of Neil Shelton and he does a great job.

The stand was very easy to install, two bolts and an adjustments on the feet and I was good to go. (make sure to use thread lock on the bolts and feet). Through Witchdoctors the cost was $320.00
