I have an 08 Vision and I use a "Junior". The bike comes with a wire already hooked up to the battery so you can plug into that. The wires are usualy just wrapped up and tied near the battery itself.

I have used the Deltran Battery Tender with great success for nearly 15 years. They work excellently! I currently have two Vics and a Beemer plugged in awaiting the inevitable snow. My average battery life is more than 5 yrs. even with our cold -zero degrees or below- winters. I leave my bikes plugged in year round and have not had a single problem. The units come with the necessary battery hook ups for any bike. I use my powerlet connection on my beemer to charge it and have used the powerlet on my 08 Vision as well. The best price I've found -about half of msrp ($40.00 +/- )is at competition accessories. I don't think you could go wrong with a Battery Tender!

The Battery Tenders come with a set of alligator clip/SAE plug connection for temporary use and a set of direct to battery terminal connections with an SAE plug end that plugs directly in to the connection that is hard wired into the battery tender unit. If you wanted to use a powerlet connection a la BMW, you would have to buy a connector available from powerlet - male powerlet connector on one end and SAE plug on the other. They are available in various lengths for around $20.00. A good source of the powerlet items is Whitehorse Gear in NH. They are on line at www.whitehorsegear.com . The Deltran Battery Tender is a "smart charger" in that it will never over charge and will maintain a battery at a constant charge state without human intervention!

I have used solar powered battery tenders on my bikes for about the last 7 years, and love it. The amps are low, they won't over charge, an you can place them out of the way, in a lighted area, and run wiring to your bike to use the SAE connect. And best of all, it's FREE electricity. Nothing to plug into a wall outlet or anything. For a constant, always connected tender, go solar and be green.

That is a fantastic idea!  Can even pack it and take it with you wherever.  I'm going looking online right now!

So, I can use the powerlet on my 08 Vision to hook in the battery tender. Looked but did not see the extra connector on the battery terminals like I have on the TCD. I will look tomorrow but it would be eaiser if all I had to do was use the powerlet under the acc. cover for this.

Not on the battery. Connected to the battery. The connector is usually on the left, around the front of the swoosh. Grope around there and you should feel it. Or look at the battery and find the small wires coming off it. The connector looks like a two pin trailer connector. All VV's have it. Just get it and tie it up at the top of the swoosh and you can plug in in seconds. The powerlet in the glove box would require you to leave the switch on, so it won't work for this.

Thank You for the info, I will look in the morning. So cold here, last night -1 and tonight 5+ for a low. I don't plan on being home here for much of the rest of the year so would like some insurance my "kids" in the garage are taken care of. By the way Thanks to you for you videos on our bikes, +5. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and yours... Until next year...

My recommendation is the Pulse Tech battery charger/tender which will hook to the stock lead on the Vision already. They were created for the military, last forever and they'll renew a TOTALLY dead battery. I have the smaller unit which stays on the bike and that I can hook solar cell panels to if power isn't available BUT they are getting harder to find, so shop around.
