So, now after 1 bazillion miles I got a problem.
Radio off I still get sound. It is RPM dependent. Clutch in or out, same whirr. Sitting still rev engine same whirring. Seems to drive the same, shifts fine. Unknown.

Stator whine. Check your voltages.

Like Kevinx said. Turn your key on and the volt gage will tell you batter power. Start bike and it should be 14.2v that tells you charging is working
Not 14v yup stator is going out fix quick cause stator will take out your regulator. P/N 4012082 / $398 there is a place on one of the other forums called
Honda East in Ohio that will give 20% off

Wonder how much Kevin could get me one? Love to help backwards. I have never heard a stator do this before or even heard of it. I know the display says it is charging and I also know the battery is on its last two toes. So, what exactly am I checking that let's me know the stator is the problem especially if its still charging. The sound isn't coming through the speakers.

well stator resistance is fine. Going to crank and see what the voltages are.

at idle. Voltage readings. A+B = 11, B+C=11, A+C= 20. I called Beth at Gainesville Polaris and she is shipping a stator to me. If i did that wrong speak up.

Should be 18v on all 3 tests. So you had only one leg of a stator doing all the work.

Why do you say gonna have a hard pull? Is there an easy way to remove cover?

I expect he meant that it will pull hard because of the strength of the magnets in the rotor.

I've never had the cover off my Vision, but I have on my Sport Cruiser when I did the charging system upgrade. Keeping the cover and gasket lined up is a bitch if you don't use a couple of locating dowels. Those magnets are very strong and make easing the cover on impossible. I would suggest you get two extra long bolts and cut the heads off to make dowels before you go to put the cover back on. Your fingers and the gasket will thank you.
