Does anyone have the mirror mounted? Just wondering if I should keep it. I have it, but haven't mounted cuz I will eventually buy one of Will's racks. Gotta mount that first. But I have been wondering if it gets in the way when trying to fit your helmet inside the trunk, or 2 helmets?

I occasionally stuff my Vic leather jacket in the trunk and found the mirror scratches easily. I removed the mirror and took it to a glass shop and had a couple of extras cut out for around $6. The new mirrors are a little thicker and better quality. I put hinges on my new mirror and velcro on the top half. Holds very well.

I haven't had my helmets touch the mirror but they do need to be in a protective cover to keep from scratching them up . I like the idea of using velcro holding the mirror in place , my rack comes loose occasionally and i drilled holes to access the screws without taking the trunk apart .

wife and I keep our helmets in the trunk with no mirror issues. We've also discovered we don't use the mirror at all.

Is the mirror standard on the Vision? My 2011 didn't come with one.

I thought about getting one for the misses, but she found out that unless you're 6' tall it's hard to use since the angle of the open trunk lid "aims" the mirror up.

With the hinges, the mirror flips open almost 90 deg. Plenty of room to access the screws. I got the hinges at home depot.

I did velcro only. It was done just before my last couple of rides last fall. We'll see how she holds. I didn't go crazy with the amount and may have to add more.

I scratched the heck out of my first trunk mirror because of my full face helmet. I have been toying with a fabric cover that can be Velcroed over the mirror. Just haven't gotten around to it.

Just have you wife make you tilt the trunk lid so she can use it.....
