Probably a simple question, but I have no idea......I know my VIN number but haven't been able to come up with my model number. Is it somewhere on the bike, in my owner's manual, or where?

Dave would be the best one to answer this question, but I don't think that Victory uses model numbers. I think the model is just "Vision Tour Premium" "Vision Tour Comfort" etc. .

ok, I just looked in my service manual and there is a rather convoluted model number for the bikes. I have an '08 Midnight Cherry Tour Premium and mine is a V08SD36DCP.
Here's the breakdown:
V = Victory
08 = Model Year
S = Chasis, in this case Vision
D = Type: B-Standard, C-Custom, D-Deluxe Tour, S - Sport
3 = Engine size: 1-1507cc, 2-1634cc, 3-1737cc
6 = Horse Power: 6- 78-94
D = Series: C-Canada, D-Domestic (49 State), L-California, U-United KingdomC
C = Color Indicator: A-Black, C-Midnight Cherry, D-Super Steel Grey (my book is an '08, I have no info on '09 colors)
P = Model info: P-Premium Model (equiped as specified for model), T-Top Premium (premium package and all available upgrades except billet wheels)

Hope that's what you're looking for.

Actually, Dave had all ready posted the needed information in .pdf form. I finally found where I saved that document and discovered that I AM covered under this recall.
They show model number V08SD36DCP for me---where V is for Victory, 08 is the model year, S is the Vision chassis, D is for deluxe/tour, 3 indicates 1737 cc's, 6 is a HP range of 78-94, D for domestic, C for midnight cherry and P for premium edition.
If you saved the .pdf, this information (along with an explanation of the VIN #) is on page 1.8.

So does my model number change when I remove the Geezer Pack and make it a Vision 4S? I'll check the next time I do it...

you caught me! Actually it is my backward way of saying if you buy a vision you can identify what it was when it came from the factory. This bike is way too cool!

In my experience it is always on the dealer invoice from where you purchased it

Does the number give you any idea what number produced it was? As in....1013 of 2444 or the like?

Not from the Model #, Vinner. Your VIN will tell you that, though. There is a thread here from several months ago where we all posted the "birth date" of our Visions and we discussed the meaning of the VIN. I was going to post a link to the thread for you, but for some reason when I do a search I can't get anything older than September.

What I do remember of it, though, is that all the Vics come down the assembly line in no particular order. So 1034 could be a Vision and 1035 could be a Hammer and 1036 could be a Kingpin, etc., etc.

Thanks for the update...I'll be checking out my vin...it would be cool to know what number Vision mine was....but my dealer also said there were like 6,500 total bikes made in 08 and 2,444 Visions. He thought they were going to try and get their total production up to 10,000 units in 09...we'll see with all the doubt about the economy and new tax ideas.

I'll do some scouting on the site to find the post too.

When I picked up my Vision there was one sheet in the Owners Manual packet that I believe showed the build date. Mine was Monday 11/19/2007, you may want to look for that paper. This information is also on a sticker on the crate that the motorcycle is shipped in. When I was at AVR and the factory tour, I believe I confirmed my thoughts on this. The bikes are built mixed on the line and are built in one day. I saw them crate the bikes at the end of the assembly line, so that sticker goes on that day.
I believe Victory will build more Visions for 2009. There are very few left over Visions at this time.
