Central New York | So what kind of mileage is the Vision getting on a set of stock brake pads? I just past 13k and near as I can tell, mine appear to still be better than half. Does that seem right, or am I seeing a hopeful illusion?

| Your doing good. I'm not there yet either but I think the fronts will last to 30 thousand. The rear I barely use so it might out last the front.
Keep in mind the front brakes are for stopping and the rear is to slow you down. |

Pittsburgh, PA | on my 2008 vision i got just under 21000 mile. they werent making noise but they were damn close to the limit so i replaced them.. i do alot of downshifting instead of just braking.. |

| The rear pads I got just alittle over 25000. I changed them when I put on another new tire (ellite 3). They looked about as thick as the steel backing,so I changed them with the bronzed slintered ones. I checkedthe front and they still looked good,should get to 30 on them. Did find out you have to remove the rear tire to install the rear pads,which is kinda of a pain to do,iI would have thought it would have been simpler . |

Anderson, IN (48mi NE of downtown Indianapolis) | Changed mine at 17k because I was going on a long trip. The old ones had more than 1/2 left. I will wear the new ones down further and keep the original ones as back up in case I decide to take a long trip at the last minute. |

Don't know why you had to remove the rear tire.......the rear pads can be changed without even removing the caliper. Took a total of two minutes.
Got 30K out of front and rear pads. |

As savage mentioned, the rear tire does not need to be removed. It is best to read through the manual and become familiar with these type of maintenance points if you choose to do your own maintenance. Everything is a live and learn, I don't even want to say what I went through the first time I changed out the rear pads. I did learn though how the caliber is assemblied. The sad thing is I went against my own principle of "always read the manual first". Doesn't mean you have to follow it, but it will help you greatly in knowing how to mess it up.    |

Midlothian, Va. | Took a peep at my fronts (22k) and about half gone. I am very easy on the binders even in my cage so they last a good while with me. |

Sullivan, IN United States | Dealer replaced my brakes yesterday. 13K on the VV. Only thing is they would squeel when I stopped, even though I used the gears to slow down I still had to tap the brakes. I was in Smokey Mountains and on the Dragon this summer and I could have over heated them up. I am heading to Arkansas this Thursday morning with a group and didn't want any issues with brakes so I had them replaced. I know they still had plunty of pad left on them. |

Rancho Cucamonga, CA | Just replaced at 15k (when the center channel disappeared) . I use the brakes more than shifting thru gears for slowing, they are easier to replace than a clutch. Been there, don't want to do that again.
