I have 2200 miles on my bike now. I have put on about 500 of them myself, I bought the bike as a "demo". Here are a few things I have noticed in the short time I've owned it.

The motor, or maybe its the transmission, is alot noiseir in the first four gears, fifth and sixth are way quieter. Is this due to the way the gears are cut?

My MPG has been around 40. I am happy with that.

It has the stage one pipes on it, it pops a lil bit when I shift gears.

Twice now the bike has cut out on me when I shifted down into 2nd gear to make a turn. It fired right back up, but not a good thing!

Other than that I love this bike, I love the looks and the handling and the comfort. It is an 08 Street Premium. I am going to change the oil/filter today and see if I notice and changes.

After about 5000 miles my mileage ranges from 36 to 39 mpg with a couple of times just a bit over 40 when traveling at around 55 mph. I have the stage 1 level 1, and had the same problems with popping and cutting out as well, but with the new flash that was part of the recent recall, everything went away with the exception of some very minor popping when the engine is cold. My transmission has always been a bit clunky when shifting gears, although that has reduced over time and miles.

Make sure you have the current flash and that will hopefully solve some of your problem. Some of the others may just require you to ride a lot ..... don't you just hate it when that happens??!!

I noticed a lot of dealers are now selling pink 90cc scooters (due to popularity because of high gas prices).
They don't make much noise, get great gas mileage, don't pop, have no CB radio-iPod- AM & FM radio or antenna issues, all 1 switches are located in a great place, require no reflashes, and have no heat issues since it's not a V-twin.

This may be an opinion that some folks need to check out.

Get the reflash now! I almost layed my bike down because of this. The reflash will 'help' with the pop too, but it won't be eliminated.

As for the tranny, mine does the same thing.

I think willy was referring to IRR's snarky comment. Could be wrong, though.

RWILLY - I think IRR was making a joke. At least that's how I read it. I don't see any ill-intentions.

IRR and all, The only suggestion I'd make is to include a since text can be taken in a bunch of ways ( a drawback to the internet ).

Carry On,

Jeff

I agree with the remap as a fix. It took care of my popping and stalling. Check the VIN and find out if your bike has had the remap modification yet. I suspect not...

Well I just have been amused lately how a few don't seem to like the way a big bike acts.
Really wasn't talking about the guys in this thread just a generlization of the whole board.

Besides, some of the guys on this board would look right smart on a pink scooter!

Add some chaps, riding boots, and winter riding gear .... who knows.
