Welcome to the forum victoryts.
A 2014 is still under warranty. Take it back and make them fix it. No way a reverse should not be working even on an uphill much less on the level.

+1 on taking it back to the dealer. Can't fix mechanical stuff over the internet.
Anny has reverse and I love it. Some complain it's slow but I find it's perfect. Not looking to break land speed records backing up.

Suggestion. Next time you buy something try everything(accessories too) while still at the dealers.

I've got a 2014. Is reverse a standard feature on 2014s? I didn't think I had it on this bike. I had it on my BMW. I only used it once, and it really helped. Made a mistake on overnight parking after a long day on vacation. It was great but after that I paid more attention and never used it again.

Reverse is an optional package.

Park smart! If the parking spot is uphill pull in, if it is downhill back it in.

I was going to originally make the "park smart" comment, but refrained because the dude paid for something that doesn't work. Hopefully, it is covered under warranty and it should work very well for you in most circumstances. It won't help much if you run over a cliff. However, if you got the thing working, use it, you paid for it. Impress your friends by parking in ackward situations and then say "watch this!" No problem with that, IMHO. Until then, park smart!

Not always possible in many situations, especially in mountain country. I've been in parking lots that gave optical illusions about which way was "up". One favorite cafe I go to in Arkansas has a "valley" going through some of the parking spaces. BOTH ways are uphill in those, and they are often the only ones available.

Then there are those places that have gravel or sand on the parking lot..........

I wish I had reverse for those times.

The OP's is under warranty. Time to see the dealer.
