Another lifetime question. How long has your rear shock lasted until it needed to be replaced?

Mine (2008) had to be replaced after 4 years and 40,000 miles. It leaked air and if I filled it, it would be lucky to last a day.
It was replaced under extended warrenty and $50.

all shocks are different. Some good and some not so.
Put air in it and check air maybe once a month. If you don't bottom out with the correct air in it then its working

thats like asking how long should tires last.. its too subjective.. too many factors involved.. weight, road conditions, riding style and the list going on .. its Not like a light bulb..

Mine has lasted 73000 miles so far and no leaks. It still works like a champ.

Yes it is very subjective. However, I asked how long your shock lasted....getting an average from everybody to get a ball park prediction.

Maybe having folks comment on their typical road conditions too...I know, this is subjective. The real answer lies back in Victory's vault...its called MTBF..aka mean time between failure

The air shocks can be fatally compromised by using compressed air.
The inrush of air under pressure is too much for the small capacity of the shock to handle.
A blown seal is the result.
The other negative thing about compressed air is that it induces water into the system.

A hand pump is the only thing you should use on the Victory rear shock.

35k on mine and still works fine. I hand pump it only. I ride 2 up about 50% of the time.

Almost 60,000 on a 2011 Vision Tour with zero leakage, zero problems.
I keep it set at 60 PSI using the Victory hand pump which is overpriced but I got if for free.
