My 2009 Vision is acting strange sometimes when I engage the starter switch with the engine in neutral nothing happens and then I pull in the clutch lever and it fires right up.It does not do this all the time but quite often.Just wondering if anyone else has this happen ?My wifes 09 Vision doesn't do this at all.

Do not know if it is the same thing but my wife's 06 Kingpin was doing the same thing and I had to replace the ACM.

Mine had done it for a spell and lately it is acting okay. Not sure what the culprit is on mine, as all I really do is change the oil and put fuel in it. Exact same system, spradic, rarely does it when it's hot, pull in the clutz lever and she purrs like a kitty.

I had the same problem one time. The only thing I can think of is the bike doesn't really "think" it's in neutral.

When this happens check to see if the gear indicater displays neutral. Even though you may be in nuetral, sometimes the gear indicater is wrong. Maybe the problem lies there.

There's plenty of times while selecting first @ a light, or trying to find Neutral in the carport when my gear indicator (after selecting and hearing/feeling the gear engage) looks like one of the stage props on a TV game show-1 N 1 N 1 N 1 N without touching the lever. I just assume the switch or the bracket holding it in place is flimsy or poorly designed, but I've had similar indicator light issues on other bikes so I just figure there's a 'central office of flimsy bracket designs' that all manufacturers purchase from-

The Victorys have a system that will not let you start the bike if it is in gear without pulling the clutch. Your bike must think that it is still in gear. My understanding is that the bikes use an electronic resistor to tell the computer what gear you are in. Different resistors for different gears. That is why you get some funky reading when starting up the bike - until the voltage levels off. Neutral shouldn't have any resistance. You may just have a a loose or corrodid wire causing enough resistance to make the computer think your in gear.

I NEVER NEVER NEVER try to start it with out pulling in the clutch, even if I KNOW it is in N. Saw a guy start his on the side stand years ago, and it went out in the street, and got creamed by a truck.
