I REALLY don't want to put a military decal on my windshield. I'd PREFER to put it someplace somewhat removable. Other bikes have a place where you can bolt on a piece of metal and just remove it, but what do you suggest for the vision? There's a whole lot of smooth plastic and not too many spots for me to put a piece of plastic on.

The only thing that's crossing my mind is to put a piece of laminate plastic on the windshield screws or something. I can remove that..........but I'm sure someone has a better idea.

It needs to be something I can remove for when I take longer trips (no need to project to the world that this bike or that decal can get you into a secure area), but still someplace that would be difficult enough to remove that it'd deter the "opportunistic" thief. That's why I'm not considering velcro. Thanks.

I used the exposed hole on the leftside fuel tank at the front jug. Look, you'll see it. I then took a plate I got from the Hardly dealer. It can be removed at anytime and doesn't interfer with anything except looks. Considering I have my rejection sticker on the left fork this ain't so bad. My bike never sits and I ain't out to show it off, so it's no big deal.

You guys talking about the black military decal plate that had a $30 price tag at my local HD?! Or did your dealer charge a more reasonable amount for a piece of metal and bolt?

mine is a chrome deal, and I had to supply my own bolt. I think it was less than $30, I can check here for you and charge you $50 for shipping it if can get it for less.

Are you close to a military base? I think they'd be a little cheaper if that would be the case, or try another cycle shop.

Yup. The HD is only about ten miles away from the main gate. Just overpriced. I might just go to home depot or something. Or a welding shop. Thanks for pointing out the hole. Never noticed it before.

I bought a chrome plate from Kury, although I have seen others that were just a simple brushed aluminum. It has a hole in it and I got an longer bolt that screws into my far left windshield hole (top one) and is seen very easily by all. When I go on rides and I don't want this to show, I can easily unscrew the bolt and change back to the original. Don't have to put them permanently on my windshield or any part of the bike. The guards at the entry post have given their approval also.

I found that the lower wind deflectors work quite well. I kept the clear ones for that reason because I can also put on the 'inside' type decals. Military etc. on the left; NRA, Victory etc on right.

I put mine BEHIND the windshield on the black plastic - in the center, as far down as I could place it. When I raise the windshield all the way, the tint at the bottom covers the decal. Drop the windshield a couple of inches and voila! Visible again.
