Can anyone tell me if there is some sort of special resetting of any of the electronics when installing a new battery in my '08 VVP? Appreciate any help or experience any of you fellow Pilots can provide.

Peace

I think your screwed. Once you disconnect the Bat every thing is gone. Your total mileage will stay but the radio setting and all other stuff will be lost.
I have heard of street roders hooking a 9 volt bat to the bat cables and have saved there settings but I have never seen it done.
Good Luck

Presets on the radio stay...at least mine did. The total miles stays, I can't remember if the trip miles stays. You will have to reset the clock, but your going to have to do that tonight anyway.

My bike was missing real bad when it was cold. I took off both battery terminals and cleaned them, Radio presets stayed. All I had to reset was the clock. I think the trip odo and average MPG cleared also, but I reset them everytime I fill up. By the way, no more miss when it's cold. My milage when from crappy to really crappy. Not sure if the ECM has to relearn like a car.

A final follow up, changed battery out last night with a Big Crank ETX20L Battery from batterymart.com and it fit perfectly even came with star washers so hopefully it will reduce losening of the connection like I have read happening to others. Took less than an hour and all settings stayed intact minus clock, so there you have it fella's, have a nice holiday season and enjoy this new life as a Vision Pilot.

Peace

If you have a 12v booster pack you can connect it to your cable before you disconnect them from the battery, remove the battery and replace this will maintane system power. This can also be done with a battery charger.

I wonder if a battery tender connected to the battery charger pigtail the vision comes with will do the trick...
