Looking at adding a driver's back rest to the Vision and not to crazy about the Utopia or payin' $800+ for a new setup-Has any one installed the Victory driver's back rest mount P/N 2877809 ? I can get the removable back rest and bracket for $282 but was curious about the bracket install. Thanks,Brian

I have the Utopia and not really crazy about it. It sits up too high on my back. Interested to see how the stock backrest offered on the 2010's would feel. Just of matter of opinion!

+1 and I have the same setup. However, don't even bother with the quick out. Once you ride with one of these, you'll never take it out. I am quickly out of $60!

I put on a Utopia yesterday. I set it up in its lowest setting, right on top of the seat, and it works great. I really recommend this product. It helps me have a better posture in the bike and makes it more comfortable.

I had the dealer include the victory backrest and mount as part of my purchase, so I did not install it myself. I have ridden with it only a short time, but the riding I did get is was great. I could not believe how much more comfortable it was. If you thought that riding a vision was like riding a very comfortable chair before, with a backrest that reaches almost to your shoulder blades, it is amazing.

I know this does not answer your question, but I though I would share about the comfort.

Purchased the Victory backrest that I originally asked about at the start of this thread today along with the mounting bracket P/N 2877787. the parts lady said it would work on any vision 08-10-which was a true statement as long as your prepared to do some work. I got the bracket attached after carving off two of the ABS plastic seat pan gussets and cutting an opening for the back rest support to pass through & taking a trip to Ace Hardware for some 1/4-20 cap screws/washers/spacers/nylok nuts. Next issue was the backrest bracket was hitting the ECM-moved it back as far as possible, about an inch, and drilled/tapped new 6x1 mm mounting holes and everything came together. Made a little piece of marine grade vinyl with leather texture, basically sewed a big button hole and contact cemented it on over the slit and it's a perfect match. Looks good -as comfortable as the Utopia may be it just looks to utilitarian to me and the small Victory oval seems to match the lines of the bike better- I'll test ride when I'm sober tomorrow-Brian

Cruised up the canyon this morning and played around with the backrest positions a bit and I'm lovin' it. Seemed to anchor me and was able to push through the twisties with greater ease -mucho gusto!

Sounds great - but - one question...

Sober??? Is it required that we drink while working on our bikes? I seem to have this problem also...

Glad you enjoy riding with it. I find it very relaxing on the arms and hands which you can now use just for driving and not holding on. Especially when accelerating out of a curve.
I personally like the Utopia look better, but different tastes are why they make different products. Why they even make Harley's for some people. (sorry, couldn't resist)
