Welcome back to me! I was rainryder a couple years ago, but had to re-register as rainryder II. Two years ago last Oct. 6th, I stacked up my black cherry '08 Vision Street premium into the back of a Nissan pickup. Although I almost won, I must recommend against such actions as the truck still came out a bit on top. While it would have killed a mortal, I merely bruised my hip and my pride. And about $5,000.00 worth of plastic. The tipover protectors did their job and the chassis was fine, but wow did the price of parts put me on the shelf. I had liability and medical coverage, but not full coverage on the Vic because, well, I was saving a couple hundred bucks! And since I never run into anybody, what could happen? A construction zone, a blind corner, a BMW Boxer trying to join me in my lane as he made a last second dive to merge onto I-5 and a dynamiting of the brakes by the rig in front, is what. A perfect storm combined with the gravel on the road there, and I was only able to scrape it down to about 30 mph before the front end washed out and I pranged the Nissans' receiver hitch with the base of my windshield. Note to self: FULL COVERAGE NEXT TIME! False savings. The cost of parts is astronomical, and the low volume of production for the Vision and the short time they've been in existence combined with the fact that, as a general rule, the front end gets to the wreck first, made it a two year haul to find most of the parts on eBay. So I gave up and fire-saled it outta here a couple weeks ago, freeing me up to look around and find a 2008 Vision Comfort Tour, down in Texas. It sure looks like an 8 Ball, though. They're going to ship it to me up here outside of Seattle, to my front door. So I've been researching, and I'll be doggoned if they only made the Vision 8 Ball for two years, 2010 and 2011. So I've got the guy down there researching the VIN number to determine if it's actually a '10, an '11, or if someone actually took this thing apart piece by piece and spent a king's ransom to black everything out, which is unlikely, because the cam covers alone are hard to get to, and everything that's supposed to be blacked out certainly is. So I'm glad to be back, and Hi to Varyder if he's still around. He must have 250,00 on his by now.

I wonder if I'm smart enough to get pics posted these days...

Anyone care to weigh in on which typo this is? I just found out about the build dates of the Vision 8 ball, and the guy in Texas went home for the evening, so I haven't had a chance to get the VIN from him to know what year the thing actually is. It sure looks like an 8 Ball to me, and for the price, with under 9,000 miles on it, I'm not too upset if it's actually a couple or three years newer...;0>

S'cuse me! Didn't mean to upset the self appointed blog-cops.

I used the search function to hunt for a removable backrest and luggage rack and found a whole bunch of entries admonishing the members for not coming up with anything new. So I'm adding something new. The story of my vehicular altercation was, I felt, maybe not interesting enough to get anyone to read on to my real question, about the VIN number of the (now confirmed) 8 Ball in question, so I started a new thread.

Frankly, I'm tickled enough about finding out the ad I looked at was a transposition of VIN #'s and that I am scoring a relatively rare, low miles, two year only model for what I feel is a good price that in my humble opinion IT BEARS REPEATING!!! WOOHOO!

Did I mention THAT IT BEARS REPEATING? WOOHOO!!!

Great to hear such excitement over getting back on a Vision. Love the look of the 8 Ball, but I'm spoiled by the extras included on my Tour Premium.

I would endorse trying the darkside. As for oil, perhaps that is a question better left not asked.

LOL Hey that's the pic I saw last night! That Dunlop tread looks awesome and I have a 40,000 mile fantasy going off in my head! You got one on the front, too, or did you stick with a bike tire?

Except for the heated grips, mentioned elsewhere, I'm so deaf I rarely used the radio on my '08 before I threwit down the road. It wasn't so great anyway, either the amp or the speakers clipped whenever I tried to get it loud enough to hear, and you couldn't hear it much above 80 anyway,,,

I have a Shinko 700 Series rear tire on the front. I also added heated grips and the power windshield to my 8-Ball. It's all plug and play.

Looks great for fire roads! It's an adventure tourer, too!

I'm bummed, the dealership pulled the ad and apparently I didn't save it properly, so now I got no pics to look at except yours 'till it gets here next week. Rats. I know a ten year old would have saved it properly, but I Don't have one of those.

Thanks! I see they put up an actual trunk bike on the link that had my 8 Ball on it. Till then, I'll use your shots and generic internet pics to get my fix till it's delivered. What was the name of the thread of the guy who used to make those posters on Visions a few years back? Motivational posters or something like that...I know! I'll use the search function!
