| Anyone got a close up shot of Lower Deflector Brackets?
I would like to make a inexpensive replacement if possible. A picture sure help, since I've never seen one in person and how it works. That way one could fgo buy the aftermaket metal ones straight away.

| Nice bike and license plate! Thanks for posting the pictures. Can you describe a bit how it attaches to the plastic...i'm not quite sure on that part. I think the bolt to the faring is a great idea. Hate to see those expensive things go flying off on the freeway. |

New Bohemia, VA | Doc, I believe that your fix will make them stick a lot longer than most, but if you ride, in the weather, winter and summer, I'll give them six years instead of five. I'm thinking now if I had gone with the lowers when they first came out, and followed the instructions to the tee without bolting them on, they'd been gone by now. Between the elements and the constant wind battering they are bound to come off. I'd hate to be riding behind someone with lowers and they fly off...just saying... |

I did the Grand Canyon ride without bolts - and they lasted until the final day - where the heat got up over 100f - and one 'lower' came mostly off. I made it home and put the bolts on. No problems since. Bolts are a MUST. |

The bolts are just Stainless steel approximately 1/8" x 1 1/4" with a flat washer and nut on the inside. I will tell you that you need someone with small hands to put the nut on. My big old meat hooks couldn't get into the space so I had to use a long set of curved needle nose pliers to hold the nuts. A surgical hemostat would also do the trick. |
