Just installed the Custom Dynamics Stingerz strip of 99 LED's in the trunk gap per Songfans very detailed instructions in the tech reference.
So well laid out, even a cave man can do it!!!
Start to finish, I was impressing my wife with the bright stop lights within 30 minutes of starting.
Thanks for a great tutorial.

I ordered and received all the parts I need from his instructions as well. Will be in my shed during the Hurricane today, installing it.

Perfect hurricane project!

One little note to you guys that have installed it:  Don't forget to wipe these LEDs off when you wipe down the bike after a long ride.  They are easy to forget and they will get a grungy film on them that will decrease the brightness over time.

Hats off to all you guys who have had the guts to try this!

It's a great install. However, after doing it and also the separate Kuryakyn 4710 for the trunk lights, I kinda wish I had done it in a set of 3 strips: 2 shorter ones as extra turn signals on the corners and one long one across the center of the trunk where the 99 LED is now. Then I could have also connected the center one to the 4710, giving me a flashing/bright center brake light. I may redo it in the future like that. But I'm happy with it and SongFan's instructions were excellent.

The 4710 is a great mod but definitely not "caveman" territory.  Now that Victory has come out with the backlit "VICTORY" trim piece for the trunk, they should step up and make the trunk lighting running/brake/turn signals like it should have been in the first place.

I took off my trunk and now wear one of those jackets that light up when I apply the breaks (like the Flying Elvis's in Leaving Las Vegas)....works pretty damn good LOL. Plus I don't have to lug around that ugly trunk.

LOL, we just stopped at the country produce place on the way home from our Sunday morning ride.
That ugly trunk hauled half a dozen tomatoes, dozen ears of sweet corn, a cantelope, some fresh green beans and potatoes, and eggplant.
My trunk definitely stays on!!

I find my trunk most useful as well. It probably will NEVER come off.
