Hello All,
I'm new to the forum since trading my 07 KP tour this Spring for a 11 Vision.

Wanted to share a short experience that I have never had happen in over 10 years of riding...I will keep this brief!

Left Sat night to head to friends house with my wife shortly after a storm had passed. Once we go to the neighborhood, I noticed alot of clay wash out in my buddies neighborhood since its a new development.

As I slowly circled the cult de sac I headed straight to park. To my surprise was a slick topping of wet clay that was slicker than ice that caused the bike to slip out from under me. The clay was hidden by a small puddle and reflection of the streetlight above the clay.....

Now to the good part (or bad part)....at about 5 mph, the bike slid right and hit the left side tip protectors. As I countersteered out of the slip, to my surprise......THE BIKE BOUNCED BACK UP! I was now just trying to control 900+ pounds of bike and passenger, but without a whole lot of drama, I tapped the gas, the bike slid 90 degrees around and was know stopped sitting upright.....wife was freaked out of course! To all of those that doubt, the tip protectors left about 6-12 inches of gouge in the pavement. I was going straight, with no acceleration or braking when this happened.

The tip protectors saved my wife, me, and my bike from ANY harm!!!! I know this is not what they are designed for, but my hats off to the Victory engineers that came up with them!!!

Not that I doubted it before, but my bike earned its Soul this weekend and I am convinced I ride the safest motorcycle money can buy. In my head I have tried to replay and learn from my mistake, but can't find one this time...."you know what" happens!!!

I assume your tip-overs are scratched up pretty bad...

And I'd leave them scared up to show all the middlebuster riders one more thing their 1946 design can't possibly do, and tell them how they let you 'ride out of it'

I bounced mine on the right side tip overs and unless you crawl under the bike you can't see any damage.

Would have loved to see it on video. Glad that all are OK.

The tip overs and electric windshield are two features that anyone riding any other bike should be absolutely envious of.

Never give up, sometimes you can come out smelling like a rose.

The tip-overs are an engineering masterpiece.
The electric windscreen is used on almost every ride, sometimes several times.

Just the bottom edges are scuffed. Fronts can't even see and the rear just needed a black sharpee. Thanks for the wellness concerns.

Last time I used my tipovers I was close to doing the same thing. Only problem was the Vision made a move I did not expect.....

I went from a typical left side low side tipover drag to upright by turning the bars to the right to upright to HIGHSIDE. Ouch

Lucky for me I used up all of the energy righting the bike and it was a very mild high side.

Ride Safe

That's cool.

I tell everyone who rides with me on the Vison, If it tip over while we're on it, hold on and keep your feet on the boards!!!
