I just saw this on the evening local news. Artists Point @ 5100 ft up Hwy 542 on Mt. Baker in Western Washington will not have the road from Heather Meadows @ 4300 ft. plowed as there is still in excess of 30 feet of winter snow still on the road and first new snow will be sometime in early October.

I know, just what all of you sweating like hookers in a confessional wanted to hear.

woot - woot, ride, ride, stay hydrated and you'll be okay. We getting 90+ to 100 here in Birginia. I had to laugh yesterday, it was raining when I was leaving work, one of the guys said "I see you're the only fair weather rider." 92 and raining, it felt like taking a shower.

Maybe I should ride to San Antonio to cool off. 107 again today in Little Rock, just like yesterday - heat index between 120 and 125. Military riders like myself are compelled to wear long sleeves, full finger gloves, and helmets at all times. Any attempt at hydration oozes out the pores in minutes. Calgon take me away.

I had to ride from from my office in Cibolo to The Shops at La Cantera for a lunch meeting. I arrived at 12:00 soaked with sweat and that was after riding about 80mph on the 1604. It's friggin HOT here!

Three of us rode Wednesday here in Tennessee, 125 miles, 5 stops, 105 degrees, heat index of 115. It was hot. Make sure you stop often for a water break.

Well I can't say it's much better up here in northwest Louisiana. It's been like 108 to 110 for the past several days. I think the Mojave Desert has moved! It feels like a blow dryer is in your face just going down the road. I'm glad I'm going up north to Yellowstone and up to Montana next week. My brother and I was just talking about if we can make it past the first 2 days on the way up we might not want to come back!!!!

Saturday, I ran from Hot Springs AR to Harrison up the beautiful Hwy 7, with the vision registering 107 to 118 all day. A lot of stops and a lot of water breaks. BUT 7 is a great ride!!!!!!!!!!

Don't know which route you are taking, but part of I-29 closed, I didn't plan ahead and took the long detour
