Kind of blows away the technique of "turn your head and get your eyes to look downrange where you want to go."  Those guys looked down between the bikes the whole time.  I got vertigo just thinking about it.

Thanks Dan, that's me in front of the firehouse. I still have a long way to go. I plan on taking Jerry "The Motorman's" course one of these days. I can do that tighter now. I practice about 10 minutes a week. I was talking to the motorcycle cops at a pub ed event one day. He said he drops his bike at about 10 times on a training day. I've used the tipovers a couple of times, but not willing to put my bike through that much abuse.

Tom, looking down like they are during the slow speed maneuvers they are doing EXACTLY what you have to do when riding that tight.  I have been to many motorcycle drill team competitions and when there is a line of 10 bikes swinging around the end bike as a line everyone is looking at the right footpeg from the guy to his left.  I used to do precision riding training when I rode with a club that participated in parades and that is where I learned how to ride slow while doing tight circles (sometimes as small as 15') on my GL1500 Goldwing.  The secret is to keep your revs up, use your clutch to control your speed, trail (light pressure on) your rear brake, and NEVER touch your front brake (use your front brake and you WILL drop your bike).  One of the other secrets is to counterweight the bike, meaning, when you are doing a tight left hand circle you move your butt up to the right edge of the seat so that the bike is tipped to the left.  I used to be able to touch (lightly that is) the crash guards on my GL1500 with ease doing certain parade maneuvers.

Hmm, talking about this makes me want to find an empty parking lot and see if I can do the same parade maneuvers with my Vision!
