I don't have any problem with someone taking the ball and running with the Vision Dash Organizer. The original dash organizer I set out and made had a couple of criterias that I will stand on. One, it must be leather, and second it must be durable and thirdly, it must have compartments. I've been using mine now for well over a year if not two years that was personally made.

At the time of getting the first one done some folks had an interest but due to cost and time I was unable to get past getting the first one done. Recently I mentioned I was reenergizing the effort and employing some improvements for the next iteration and bringing the cost down, thus the flurry with scotvision's well made rendition.

I'm in no competition with anyone, but before I start on the next one that would be made and hopefully, easier and cheaper I want to find out the interest of the Original Vision Dash Organizer. It is leather, compartmentalized and would be considerably cheaper than my original $400 that I paid in having the first one made. The interior material is considerate of items such as glasses and cellphones or other electronic devices. I find my timeless, very durable and each compartment can be accessed individually. It houses glasses, cellphone, wallet and small items.

My public apologies for those who showed and interest but I was never able to get the next one done in a timely manner, but life took over with many other things. The time has come and R&D is done to make the first one even better.

I would prefer a leather one and I like "non-destructive" mounting.

To be honest I could careless if its leather or not considering its application.. also considering how much it won't be able to hold due to visibility issues price would be a factor to me the same way it is with those $500-$600 trunk racks.. I would like to have a dash bag, but I won't spend hundreds and hundreds to hold a cellphone, wallet and glasses.. just saying...

Understand Chris. It was only something I had done and wanted to share. Given it's application I find it more valuable than any other thing on my bike. Rides are more comfortable and less frustrating if I have to stop to make a call. Because of it's location, and the durability and appearance of leather, that is what I prefer. I don't expect anyone to get one, just something I wanted to share.

So really! What price point are you thinking?

Its all an academic exercise until somebody (that would be you, CAP'N) says............. $xxx.xx per unit. 2 weeks delivery; or something.

I have a set of "Cordura" bag liners that I purchased 10 years ago for the BMW that are now unusable due to the waterproof coating inside the bags decomposing into something toxic and sticky. The reflective vinyl piping sewn into the seams is also crumbling. So, I personally have no problem spending money on a durable item that I will never have to replace.

I also like the idea that the dash will be protected from UV, since its the only horizontal surface of the bike not protected by paint.

But, YOU have to make the offer. Then give us a list of features and benefits that justify the purchase.

Tarpit, yes, I've got the lessons learned addition moving ahead and hope to have that design down soon. I agree with the durability and since I don't have a major R&D I can only go by what I know and have learned. Mine is holding up very well, but the design and material makes it very costly, and giving that, there is only a few things I would change on it, but it seems to be the good design. I've got another material in mind that would allow the interior design to work and accomidate the leather exterior at a lower cost. I'll be getting some prototype pictures out hopefully soon.

Dont buy the side bag nets. The installation will drive you crazy. A lot of velcro to install. Wasn't sure how well it would hold so I canned them.
From what I could see, removing the side covers was the only way to make sure they were installed properly. Considering the space, I didn't think it was worth it.
