Calgary, AB,
Waht say you all on the need for a warranty on these bike. I'm looking at buying in the U.S. but most of the year the bike would be in Canada, maybe only 3-04 months in the US. If I buy in US, I don't have warranty coverage in Canada, (think its the same if vice versa.)
How many feel warranty is of any real value. I save a LOT of $$ by buying in the US,. maybe as much as $4000+ so it is a big deal,
Am tempted to just take my chances; if needed I'd trailer it back when I'm there and get it fixed there.
Thanks in advance.

My opionion is it would be worth it.
Better for resale if you sell it during the warranty period.
You can shop a good deal on an extended warranty if your
dealership isn't budging on list.

I don't know if the warranty is worh the $4000 you say that you can save. If I bought a used Vision that was only a year or two old and was low miles, I think I would go for it with out a warranty as long as everything checked out at time of sale. I do most of my own wrenching, so the dealer that I used only got the work because of the extended warranty. For the most part, I have to believe that under a $1000 would pay for anything that would go wrong on a Vision in normal life. There is always that one case where something really weird happens, but I believe you would be money ahead and just as happy. JMPO

Do some research and see if you can find a good 3rd party warranty party in Canada. Even in the US some dealers have a 3rd party company. Then you just have to make it through the first year or two (whatever deal you get at purchase) and then you may decide you may not want it. Most companies let you get an extended just before your company warranty runs out.
