Yes, I'm frustrated. After 700 or 800 miles, here's why:

1. 11 presets for the iPod playlists. I have an iPod Touch with 32 Gig of memory able to hold many thousands of songs and yet i have only 11 presets for playlists plus a preset for all songs. Give me a break! I want a list of all playlists so that I can select the one I'm interested in hearing. If I have 5000 songs, my choice is 1 of 11 presets, all songs, and I can skip a song or skip 10 songs. So, I either reduce the number of songs on my iPod and my number of playlists or I just hope I'm lucky when locating a song.

2. Integration with 3 year old GPS technology. The Garmin 2720 is 3 years old. I don't want it. I want the Zumo 550, which I have now. It has bluetooth and integrates with my phone. I can see when I'm getting a call and I even get caller ID information. Unfortunately, it doesn't integrate with the Vision audio system so I'm unable to answer the call and converse with the caller. I want to listen to my iPod, XM, or radio and when a call comes in I want to answer it and converse with the caller. I can't and I can't figure out how I might do that. Somebody didn't think this all the way through.

3. The left saddlebag lid simply does not fit. It doesn't close all the way. How can I receive a bike for which I paid $27K and the left saddlebag not seem to close properly with the seams lined up? Give me a break.

All bitching aside... I love the bike. It handles great. The wind protection is very good. It doesn't have great HP and torque but it has enough. I'm a little concerned about MPG but hopefully that will improve. No driver's backrest? Give me a break. Fortunately, I have the Utopia backrest and it works just fine (once i flipped it upsidedown). I have the tall windshield to protect the wife-unit and that seems to work fine. The CB, XM radio, FM/AM radio, and iPod integration along with intercom is great.

Suggested Vision improvements:

1. Full integration with my phone so that I can send and receive emails and text messages. The console could house a larger multiline display or a headsup display or whatever. A voice activated keyboard would be great so I could dictate my emails and text messages. Yeah, I know this feature will never happen.

2. I want all the plastic to line up properly. Is this too much to ask? I paid more for this bike than a lot of people pay for cars and yet all the seams match up on their cars! Give me a break! I do expect this, though.

3. I want to answer and initiate phone calls. I run a consulting business and I would like to be able to run it while driving through the mountains of Colorado whilst the person on the other end of the line would think I'm in the office. Please, make this feature work.

4. A fly button. When in traffic, I could press this button and the thing would lift off and take me above the traffic to my destination. This may require a pilot's license but I'm willing to take the necessary instruction. Am I reaching a bit?

So far, I have the J&M speakers. They made moderate improvement but not substantial. However, I believe they're better speakers and will last longer than the stock ones so they're worth the $$$.

I bought the J&M CB antenna but that's a throwaway item. Don't buy it. Instead, I bought an antenna from a CB shop and had it tuned. Much better.

Now, if I could figure out how to answer my phone and talk on it when my Garmin Zumo 550 tells me I have an incoming call, I'd be excited. Still, the bike is the best bike on the road and Victory should be proud of their achievement. I'd bitch about it even if it were perfect. That's what I do.

The 2820 integrates beautifully and you can answer calls and do everything you need to do.
as far as VTOL capabilities I hear that will be available in 2010
as far as IPOD set up, you need to set up categrories and such BEFORE you put it on Bike.
you should set up categories while IPOD is connected to your Home computer. Problem solved.
as far as left saddlebag, this is a regular problem that your dealer might be able to help you with.
I have 9400 miles on bike and love it BUT dealer network is crap with few exceptions.

Yeah, if this is the limit of my frustration, I have a pretty blessed life; which I do.

Yeah, I didn't realize I'd actually like to talk on my phone while riding the bike. I went for the Zumo 550. I may consider getting the 2820 now.

I can't wait! This will really solve my waiting-in-traffic frustration.

Yes. I'm aware of this. My problem is that I have a 32 Gig iPod Touch and 11 categories just aren't enough for me. I would prefer to scroll through an unlimited list of playlists and then select one rather than having the first 11 playlists map to buttons 2-12. With 5000 songs, there would be an average of about 450 songs per category. I have 45K songs I have categorized by artist and would like to take those playlists and put on my Touch (well, 32Gig worth) and then select those playlists but only the first 11 playlists are available.

Yeah, I hear that Victory has some sort of document that explains how to align all the plastic pieces. I'm going to see if my dealer can get it and figure out how to make it work. As far as dealers, Stroker's Dallas has been very good so far. I know what you mean about dealers, but Stroker's has gone above and beyond to do me right.

Thanks for the info!

Northwest of you

While I have been to a few foriegn countries, I don't plan to go to Texas.

I had considered it, but, now that I know you are running your consulting business, text messaging, sending and receiving

faxes as you ride, I will just stay away.

Some other things you are probably wanting, but, left out for some reason would be, "instant on" hot water for your coffee, voice

activated remote control for your plasma TV screen (of course you would probably complain if the screem wasn't at least 64",

a seat that reclines into a king sized bed and a shower to rinse off after sex...........all while you are roaring down the highway

at 90 mph.

How could Victory have been so short sighted, after all, you paid them so much money.

I am sure they feel very blessed.

You bring up some good ideas. I think the 64" screen would get in view of the road so a heads up display would suffice. The Vision practically drives itself and with a GPS and some extra technology like radar it could navigate through traffic while I'm on the phone, sending email, watching TV, or napping. I mean, why couldn't they think all of this stuff? Yeah, I'm very frustrated...

I think my setup is different. After investigating, I think that the 2820 doesn't integrate as good as you suggest. Please correct me if I'm wrong. First, i have a CB which I use and th intercom which I also use along with the iPod and XM radio setup. I also have a helmet with the J&M headset and cord which I plug into the bike. My wife-unit has the same setup. The 2820 will not integrate in with the CB and intercom and helmets plugged into the bike. I want, but cannot get, integration with my phone in the way you suggest. I'm assuming you must have a bluetooth headset in your helmet? If so, then that works great with the 2820 but does not integrate in with the CB and intercom system on the bike. Again, correct me if I'm wrong. What I want is the phone and GPS integrated so that I can listen to my iPod, radio, or XM with the CB and intercom on and then receive and answer calls. So far, I don't see a way to do that.

Fergy - With all that crap hooked up and running when will you actually be able to enjoy the ride? Each to their own, but try it with nothing but the smell in the air and the sound of your pipes. Just a suggestion.

Please, give me a break. I have over 100K miles on a cruiser with no conveniences whatsoever. My last trip was 7500 miles to Nova Scotia and Gaspe Peninsula (those are distant places from Texas) over a 15 day trip on a Vulcan 2000. When riding 500+ miles a day for 15 or more days in a row, it gets old not having conveniences like an XM radio, a CB to talk to my riding buddies, an iPod to listen to "my music" and a GPS to get me there and back. Believe me, I know what the air smells like and with my Vance and Hines pipes on my old bike that's all I could hear. I've moved on...

Simmer down now Fergy.............it was not meant to be a personal attack on you. I also have XM radio and GPS and have moved on to a bigger more comfortable ride. I'm a fellow distance rider and have done the 2 weekers with rain, hail, snow, and sunshine. When I was reading your post it sounded like your next step was to add a laptop. My apologies if I hit a nerve, that was not my intentions when I posted. One way communication somtimes results in issues like this............again I apologize if I offended you.

Thanks for the info. I was planning to take it to the dealer soon and have them readjust. I hear there's a document the dealers can get from Victory that explains the hows to do the realign.

I thought you ride a bike to get away from all those electric gadgits?

Since this keeps coming up for some reason, I'll explain. I put 20K-30K a year on a bike; maybe more now that I have the Vision. I do it not by riding to work every day. I work from my home office. 99% of my miles come from multi-day road trips. When I first started riding, I did what most usually do. That is, they ride to local bars and biker hangouts. It's more fashionable than anything else. Then, I realized I really like riding. Go figure! Well, I started going with groups on organized day rides of 100-200 miles or whatever. That was fun, but I got tired of that. Then I started going to organized events out of town and out of state. That was fun too. A lot more miles and different places. Cool! However, that was usually a good ride to get to the destination and then sit around and talk to everybody and do a few short rides and then ride home. Well, I've moved past that even. I prefer mult-day road trips where there's a single destination but a destination each day of the trip and the roads to get there. I want 500-1000 miles a day every day that I ride. Period. For me, I get tired of the inconveniences. I get tires of hearing loud pipes. Try riding 500 miles a day for 15 days in a row. Some days may be 300 miles if the roads are mountainous and twisty. Some days may be 1100 miles if you're on the highway. But, the days average out to 500-600 miles a day. If you ride like that and still want a cruiser, more power to you. For me, I still get the enjoyment of the ride along with the conveniences I may miss while on a long trip. After all, I can still turn off the radio. You can't turn it on if you don't have it. If that's not for you guys, fine by me. I like to ride 90+ miles per hour all the time, scrape pegs through the turns, and listen to my XM radio while doing it while talking to my riding buddes behind me to tell them how great of a turn that was that I just went through. Fortunately, the Vision takes care of all my needs. Now, if I could make a phone call while riding, I'd have it about made. You try riding 2 weeks solid from 7 AM to 10 PM every day and then you'll realize the convenience of such a thing!

Thanks, BigVic. I wasn't simmering. The reason bikes are customizable is because we can make them into what we want. I will want different things than you. I'm a different person with different riding habits. So be it. On my trips I want to get up early and hit the road and not stop until I'm too tired to ride any more and then get up the next day and do it all over again. Convenience becomes important for me. Oh, and if I could put a laptop on the thing and use it, I would. The display could be a heads up display and the keyboard would be my voice. Wow! I could work AND ride... Hmm... Actually, I really don't work much anymore but being able to make a call would be nice...

Ride on Ferrgy...........by the way I do like what you did with the radar detector. It looks "clean" and fits the dash well. Not really sure where to put the laptop so you could use it while riding but I'm sure you could rig it up in the trunk and use it when your stopped.
