| I am going to send out my ECU to Lloydz first part of the week. I just want to make sure that the ECU is under the passenger seat. About 5" x 6" square made by visteon. Pretty sure that this is it could I get a for sure on this from someone please. Thanks a lot Ryan |

Ruskin, Fl | I'm getting ready to call or e-mail Lloyd. Is it a new ECM or just a new e-promm? How much, and what does it do beside extend rev limit? Riding to Daytona at about 80 the whole way the bike's onboard computer indicated 45 MPG. My actual economy was 43. About 2 MPG off is what my old Vision was off. I was shocked at that. After the dyno tune and he corrected a lean burning motor, the onboard MPG has dropped a little, but the actual MPG is now 6 -8 MPG lower. As much as I don't like bad mileage since I ride about 1400 miles a month, I can live with it. The bike runs GREAT. The stupid computer thing will drive me nuts. Distance to empty 100 miles and I really only have a gallon of gas left at 32 MPG irritates me to say the least. |

Welcome to my world. I have had this problem from the beginning, spent the full year of my warranty complaining about it, and got totally stonewalled by my dealer and the factory. You would think that they could come up with a computer that could do basic arithmetic, but I guess its just too complicated for them. Anyway, my mileage computer is off anywhere from 6 to 11 mpg (always reads higher than actual). But then the bike runs really great (with Lloyds ECM and cam), so I gave up worrying about it. |

That is for the old 99-01 bikes. Any Victory made after 2002 does not have a replaceable e-prom chip, nor can you fiddle with any calibrations from home. Some calibrations can be done by the dealer, but the MPG calculations are going to be set from the factory. |

They also have an exchange program. Call Lloydz and get on the list. There is a refundable core charge if you do it this way, but your bike won't be down any longer than the time it takes you to unplug your original ECU and plug the new one in. Send your original back to Lloydz and they refund the core charge. That's how I did it.
It's a simple remove and replace procedure. Unscrew your original ECU from the frame, unplug it, plug in the new one and screw it back onto the frame. Done.
Call now. It could be a long wait. These things are VERY popular, and well worth the cost. They should have come from the factory this way.

You should call Lloydz for the best answer to that question.
The ECU mod has an improved timing profile in addition to extending the rev limiter to 6400 RPM in all six gears. It eliminates the 120 MPH speed limiter in 6th gear. You won't be hitting the rev limiter in 1st and 2nd, and 3rd gears, just before you want to shift, like you do now with the stock ECU. I would guess the improved timing would show a small increase in power on an otherwise stock motor, but you should call Lloydz to get an informed answer. I'm just guessing about improved timing helping power.
Your stock cams start falling off after about 4500 RPM, so the ability to rev higher won't gain you much power with the stock cams. With Lloydz VM1 cams, the motor will still be making more power all the way past 5800 RPM, so the modded ECU really helps take advantage of the potential of the cams.
