I had some front body panels replaced under warranty and rode it home.  All was well and I was going to stop for gas on the way into work yesterday but the pumps were all full (two deep) so I decided to do it after work (50 miles round trip).  Pulled up to the pump last night and went to open the gas cap door....nothing.  The key turned to the left with sping loaded tension but the catch wasn't releasing under the lid.  I jacked with it using a credit card in the gaps while turning the key but stopped just short of cracking something.  I have about a gallon and a half to get it to the dealer this week (15 miles).  My guys are great and are going to be really embarrassed when I call about this.

Just something to check before you pull out after having front end work done.

Probably an easy fix if you remove the console. Its a pretty simple cable setup. Both ends of the cable have metal "caps" that slide into a slot on either the ignition switch or the gas door. If it were me I'd take the 5 minutes and pop the console and see whats going on.....save the dealer trip.

Thanks lotza,  I'm thinking the same thing.  Won't be able to mess with it until Tuesday.  I've got to pry the right side of the access panel up since I can't open the fuel door.

Ahh....good point !!

But.....I just went out to my bike and opened the glove box and did discover that the access panel can easily be popped off without opening the fuel door.

Good luck
