Which model of Garmin does Victory use and does it have an internal antenna or is the antenna mounted somewhere on the bike. I would prefer not to pay the money Victory wants for theirs and buy a unit that will work in it's place if possible. I still want it to be intergrated as original equipment. (Any suggestions on different Models?) I already have the add'l cable for the CD Player, CB and so fourth.

Victory gps is Garmin 2720; you can , however, use the 2820: identical
except it has Bluetooth and Mp3(or XM-can't recall that part). Online for
$350-about $500, depending on model. Then all you do is order the Victory mount and you're good to go
including the power/audio cord.

If I buy the 2720 does it use a external antenna or is it built in to the unit?

Northwest of you

They are built in.

Actually, you can use just about any gps with your Vision.

The Victory mount and plug makes for a nice "integrated" system and that in for the Garmin 2720 and 2820.

I have gone with the Tomtom 3rd Edition because of it's features. I simply changed out the "powerlet" plug in the

glove box, with a "standard" plug and so any "plug" type accesory will work.

Powerlet has adaptor plugs for most applications  with the Victory supplied plug (Powerlet is the Victory supplier) but, they run about $40 each and I don't get the  "big difference".

2820 integrates beautifully. It has space for about 200 songs. by using mini-USB you can buy xm radio antenna which also has weather and traffic avoidance capabilities.
It works 75% of the time depending on what city you are in.
FYI in Florida, it works in Miami, Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville. and approx 50 mi radius of each city

I have a little different recommendation for the GPS solution.  Since the current Victory Garmin unit is an obsolete 2720 model I am going to use my current Garmin Zumo 550. Arizona Victory (520-770-9500) has manufactured a billet bracket for the Zumo 550 that looks like and mounts in the same place as the Victory mount but is a little taller to work with the Zumo 550. Currently the Zumo 550 will not integrate with the Vision audio system but I have talked to the engineer at Victory in charge of this area and they are working on support for the Garmin Zumo 550. He said he uses a Zumo 550 himself on his bike. Victory knows they need to support these new models and will.

In the meantime I think it is a big deal as I don’t currently use the voice announcement option on the Garmin or the built in GPS in the car. You can also plug the auxiliary plug into the audio out jack of the Zumo 550 and while in the Aux mode will get all announcements and mp3 audio through the Vision sound system from the Zumo 550. The Zumo 550 is a much better device than the 2720 and I like it much better than the 2820. It was designed for a bike and has many design features that benefit bikers.

Some of the features I like about the Zumo 550 are:
  - Brighter display
  - Touch screen and controls specifically designed to work with winter thick gloves
  - Garmin lock, secure mount feature for bikes that allows quick release
  - 4 hour batter support so you can take it in the dinner or hotel and work on routes etc.
  - High sensitivity receiver, work better in areas where you have obstructions
  - Supports SD data cards to store songs for the MP3 player, pictures etc.
  - It has a picture viewer function
  - Configurable icons for display to show a motorcycles or cars
