Florida | hi all, its been a while since being on this site but i have been looking at tpms. does anyone here have them, use them, like them? it would be for my 08 vision. also, which would you recommend as i know there are a couple out there.

Vancouver, B.C. & La Quinta, CA | I have done some research on this topic. My choice was the Doran unit. I will try and find some time to post a review on this unit soon. In short, I like it because it allows the remote placement of the head unit in a saddlebag leaving the red warning light for installation in a good line of sight location on the dash. Itnis accurate and gives me real peace of mind as I ride. |

Rancho Cucamonga, CA | I got the Doran as well. Put the main unit in the small pocket of the saddlebag and the the remote light behind the speaker grill. Nothing visible unless the light comes on. |

Spirit Lake IA "Birthplace of Victory Motorcycles" | I have the Doran. I tapped into RH handlebar and mounted the cube wherevI can see it. Takes 2 sec to check tire pressure before I ride. |

| One of the guys on the Vision Rally we had here in SE PA had such a unit. My question is if one bought the trike unit setup with three sensors is there any reason one sensor could not be put on the shock so this could be monitored also? Mike |

Should work. Just have to decide what shock parameters you want and assign them to the third tire. The trike readout would be a little confusing though. Which "tire" would you assign the shock to? |

I think the unit I saw at the Vision Rally was from Tire Guard which had two readout windows one for each tire ......and the trike one has three readouts. Rancho Cucamonga, CA | The Doran I got has a display that shows four tire icons and highlights each one in order as it displays its pressure. Just set the fourth tire as your shock. My understanding is they make units with as many tire icons as a semi-truck.
The only downside of the Doran is it takes about 5 min on power-up to get a pressure reading. I will usually turn my bikes power on before I do my walkaround and warmup. By the time the bike is warm it has a reading. If I'm in a hurry, I just keep an eye on the red warning light I installed behind the speaker grill. It will blink in a triple pattern for those first 5 minutes letting me know it's working, the go out if everythings ok or change patterns if it's not ok.
To me the 5 min wait is far better than crawling on my belly to check the rear tire pressure and it's the only system I found with an easy to see warning light if you start to lose psi while riding. |

Wichita, Kansas | I asked Doran that question and they said, good idea except the shock pressure spikes every time you hit a pothole so the overpressure alarm would go off all the time. |

I was going to ask if anyone wired it hot. It says it has a 30-40 mAMP draw in sleep mode. That's six times more than my alarm. With the two together, I wasn't sure if that might be to much. I know, that's less then an AMP a day.
When you set the pressure on the Doran, it will give warnings if the pressure drops 12% and 25%. I didn't know it warns for overpressure. Didn't see that in the manual.
