I agree with VisionTex, the Vision is not for everyone and I for one am glad it isn't. I enjoy being different from others, not being 1 of a million riding the same style bike.

That's a fact, it's not your ordinary motorcycle. It takes a visionaire to ride one...

I was bummed when I looked at the front of the sidebags when my wife and I got back from our little weekend trip and noticed thye were semi-scuffed from her chaps, but they buffed right out with a fresh coat of wax yesterday. I should get her to wear alcantara or something, but the chaps are so hot with blue bikini bottoms...

Also, I used Eagle One Nanowax for the first time. VERY positive report to-er-report. Extremely smooth, great gloss on the midnight cherry, and easy on/off, and come with it's own applicator and microfiber towel, for $3.50 at BigLots. Could probably be gotten at some dollar stores, too, but was sheap enough to take a flyer on, with pleasant results. liek blue bikini bottoms. no pics, either.

Don't throw you polishing towels in the dryer with fabric softener. The softener has patrolmen in it. I all ways let mine drip dry and tow for polishing one to whip the wax off and then go over it again with the second towel for the high gloss finish. I have been using maguiar's was clean and it comes out great. Before each ride whip the bike with a califorina duster. When I get home a damp hot towel to whip the bugs off way quicker when there freshly splattered. Stay with the micro towels.

My wife loves the heated saddle bags. I can bring home dinner and it will still be warm no matter how sidetracked I get riding home.
Coming from a Harley bagger, there is very little I can complain about with 'ViNess-a'. I don't have a trunk so I can't really comment on the wind, cause I have a whole lot less pushing than my bagged ever did. I just finished a ride thru Mojave desert and a few HD riders asked my how the Vision did in the wind because they were getting "concerned". I had no problems with the wind. We slowed down a little after that. Of 11 Harleys in the group, 3 lost parts on the 250 mile ride ( shift lever, trunk bolt and a whole side saddlebag ). No bike was over 6 years old.
Sure the pipes are quite, stock Harleys are too. Mods fix that easily.
I only wish I had an 8 gallon fuel tank, cuz 320 miles is about when I feel like I want to get off and stretch for 5-6 minutes. Kinda sad to stop every 240.

too cool frey man - that's a good deal to freshen up on the Vision. I look forward to the day that we can head to Texas for chili, and then to boston for clam chowder then on to maine for lobster, all in the same trip and just for the fun of it.
Dont' forget Seattle for salmon and Las Angeles for......... tacos!

Damn i want that 2010 Blue and sandstone though. Have to get one of those, keep my 08 black and get the custom paint on the black one.

Hear, here! I ALMOST not waiting... but it would have been two years of not riding the Vision to get that color combo. It IS beautiful, though.
By the way, VARYDER, i am in Pauls Valley, OK this month, will be riding across to Norfolk out of here in the 15th of Sept. Be in town for a week and then ride back out this way for work again. And I'm about 3 hours SW of Norfolk.

ScoreBo - 2010-09-08 6:30 PM You forgot a few #9a No matter how hard you try, you can't clean the fogging on the top of the headlight #11 Red contrast on gauges is too light. (Fixed on 2009 and up) #12 The chrome peels on the clutch cover. #13 Is this thing a popcorn machine? #14 Why does it feel like ice on wet tar snakes? #15 Gear indicator doesn't work 100% of the time. #16 Gatlin tips are too hard to clean. #17 Battery won't hold a charge if you leave the trunk open too long. #18 Why does the rear brake need to be bled every year? #19 I'm in the dumps about these issues. Someone told me to look at the Motivational Posters. Where are they? #20 I hear Donetracey knows the best oil to use, but won't tell us. Sorry, I couldn't resist.

#20 - Not true. I have been clear about this in other %$#@ threads - I use Peanut Oil (that's what my Dealer told me)

And since i don't have ANY of the other problems discussed here - I'm guessing it is the Peanut Oil that stops those things from happening.

If you are spending "Vision" money on a bike you had better do your homework!! Looks like you didn't do your research!! I find all the complaints you name false!! I think that your motorcycling experience is minimal at best!!! The Vision is one of the best bikes I have ridden with regards to wind!! My grips get too hot and I have never had dirt or dust problems with the saddlebags or the trunk. I got news for you pal, the 2010 are the same!!!!

#6 the heated grips don't get very warm. A match gets hotter.

Your heated grips should not get hotter than a match, that could cause burns.

Actually, I only have one complaint about the Vision, and, it's not really a complaint so much as an observation. It doesn't have as much power as I like. Granted, my last bike was a Suzuki Hayabusa. I miss the speed and power that bike had, but, all that is forgotten when the stereo on the Vision comes on. Besides, the Vision is a LOT more comfortable.

Actually I find the Vision handles very well in the wind. You just have to learn not to fight with "Vicky" so much on windy days!
