I would like to hear from anyone that has swapped out there ECM and not yet replaced the cams. According to Lloyds shop there are advantages in the new ECM beyond extending the revs that will apply to cammed and non-cammed bikes.
I will probably end up with cams and the reprogrammed ECM but for now I am working on a replacment baffle system for the stage II mufflers and would like to track performance stock, stock with ECM and ECM with cams for both of the baffles I am working on. How fast this project takes is dependant on how satisfied i am with the results. I am hoping on having one of the baffles on the bike at AVR.

I would be interested in finding out more of what was changed and what the effect has been also.

The new ECM is absolutely frickin awesome. 6,400 rev limiter in all gears and no top speed limiter.
Although the timing change is pretty amazing also. First and second are geared much differently.
I always said they were too low geared. Now they are more like other Vic's. Plus an extra 10MPH in those gears.

He is a little behind. Has so many out at once, always waiting to get a bunch back to reprogram and send out again.
Quicker to send in yours, but bike would be down for a bit. A good winter mod and that way you get your serial number back.

What's the difference between getting a Power Commander and reprogramming the ECM?

A Power Commander is an aftermarket device that controls the fuel injection, the ECM is your bikes computer.

I went to Lloydz site to find a price for the ECM mod.  Is it the Performance E-Prom (under Intake and Fuel Control) for $149?  Do I still need the Rev-extender if I get the ECM mod or will the ECM mod take care of all that by itself?

I am "fixin" to have my ECM re-flashed by Lloydz and then add the VFC on top to cover any and all mods in the future to include his cams. Just got my 08 VVSPC (C is for Custom Paint) check it out in the gallery. It does pop every now and then but not to the point that it is a problem. Got my fuel filler problem taken care of with the new style cap for the 08 model. This bike is a rider but needs to have the same throttle roll on like my TCD has. I understand the 6-speed thing but more cubic inches should comp that out compared to the 92/5 which is a flat out a freakin "Hot Rod" for throttle roll on after 65mph. I think all that do the ECM re-flash need to keep in mind the speed rated tires on all our bikes. Don't get me wrong, I was shagging three H-D's three weeks ago and have 3/4 worn tires that I have not checked air pressure in for a couple of months but we were crusing at 115 mph for well over 5 miles between WI Dells and Portage, WI. Not sure if they had anything left but I know I was paying special attention enough to all the s*** happening so fast around me and not sure if I had any more left. Hung back a little as they had an attitude and I did not want to give them the chance to wreck me. Looking for this kind of performance from the Vision. Not rode it much because of the gas cap problem but have enough background with the original "Buckin Horse" TCD a couple of years ago. Thanks to Lloyds help with the 03 TCD, I know I can count on him for all the support to make the Vision just like the 03 TCD. Ponit being, we all have speed rated tires, figure 5% safety factor--- not so sure it's not 25% but not sure. Not trying to be your "MaMa" but just trying to make an important point. Lord knows I was born a safety problem...

Ride hard, ride fast, but above all ride safe.....

See ya all on the Vision Roade,

Wildman

I forgot about this mod. I need to get my bike ECM sent off before I go back to work next month. By the time I get back right after Xmas :-( I should have my ECM back :-) I was gonna take it in and get it re-flashed anyway since it has had the Lvl2 exhaust flash done before I installed the VFCIII (runs rich on roll-on unless you go back to stock code). Either way, I would have been out some $. Might as well do the Lloydz way and get a little something back for my investment!

No Tom, that's for '99-'01 bikes that actually had a plug-in chip for the ECU. Lloyd has not yet listed the ECM in his store. Call him (or the lovely Bri) for ECM details.

8-Ball, the ECM re-flash may not cure all of your roll on issues. His IAC Valve wil help with that.
Lots been written about this but the closed loop bikes have some throttle lag due to all the extra air.
Since installing mine, my throttle response is instant, no lag.
The bike is a little cold blooded now, needs to warm up for a couple of minutes but then the rest of the day is perfect.
I played with it for a bit, had it almost perfect then had Lloyd finish it off when he installed my new computer.

#57,
Thanks for the tip about the IAC Valve. Will look at making the IAC Valve, new exhaust gaskets and the Intake Plate my first mods. Then see where to go from there. Looks like you have most of the goodies on your bike and the HP/TQ numbers show that the parts play well together. Having Lloyd work on it sure does not hurt. I will be taking "Twister" North on it's first road trip after work tomorrow night and will see how it runs. Might just need a good hard ride, looking forward to it. Ride hard, ride fast, but above all ride safe.....

Just rolled in from the first maiden tour on "Twister". The "Twister" ran so good I had to use some restraint to keep us both intact. 115 MPH on "Twister" is not even getting my heartbeat going, so smooth. So when does the bike shut down, 120 or so because of the speed rating on the tires? Bike bottomed out when I left, did not check PSI but it was 40 PSI when I returned home and it bottomed out one time, will bump it up to 50 PSI and see what happens (I am no light weight). Did notice it handled better at road speed and was more comfortable. Throttle roll-on was excellent, just need to crank the throttle harder than my TCD. Suprised a lot of "cages" when going by but no H-D bait on the road today. Understand I am not a casual rider and will ride until the salt flies but hope I am helping promote the Victory Vision here in WI>

Ride hard, ride fast, but above all - ride safe....

P.S. Not any popping that I did not cause this weekend

Stock bike will cut out at +/- 120MPH. Reprogrammed ECM has no pre set top speed limiter.
6,400RPM in 6th gear is your new limit.

Is this all the reprogrammed ECM does (raise the rev limit), or can it replace the VFC3 all together?

Rick, do you have your latest dyno sheet with your rev extender installed? I have been hitting mine a lot lately, but want to know when the power starts to drop off before I make the plunge.

So, my Lady asked if I am a hard core biker, Hell I am still trying to figure out the Rodeo Cowboy part of my dumb ass. Damn she was being my chase car following me to Portage last weekend so we could have lunch. I responded that she was the best chase car, she wanted to know what the hell I was thinkin about the high speed run.... over 110 mph and I can't talk> Just smiled and told her I love her, good to go for now. No disrespect but there is a reason my Mother lives 2,000 miles away. I have a need for speed and try to sub-due my needs. "Twister" and "Hot Rod" will go in the spring and I will buck out the new 2011 Blacked out Vision 8-Ball. Best dealer in the area for my trade is A+ Power Sports. As I have said I am no causal rider so ride = accordingly, Good Night and ten four....

OK, I am running Lloydz cams and VFC III, with intake plate...What added benefits would I get from adding the Lloydz ECM, besides the rev limiter??

Does it help with idle?
Does it help with cold starts?
Does it help smooth out the engine/sputter when cold?
What all does it get you when installed???

As much as I LOVE the higher rev limiter, the change in timing in 1st and 2nd is something that really needed changing.
My gripe with the Vision was always that 1st and 2nd were too low geared.
Not a mechanic so do not expect much with this description of what the difference is.
Something about changing the powerband and when power kicks in with the timing change. More like riding my Kingpin
in 1st and 2nd now. When driving like a normal human being the MPG goes up.
When driving like an idiot around town then the MPG drops a bit.
