Had a 3 day road trip this week and on the last day starting was sluggish. Once started the battery warning light stayed on for 2 - 3 seconds. Got home and found ground terminal wire a little loose. Tightened it up and everything seemed fine.

While sitting in stop and go traffic yesterday the light was coming on while sitting still, but went off when moving. Made a 'quick' stop at Lowes only to find that there wasn't enough juice to start back up again. Negative terminal loose again - went back in and bought some star lock washers. Still not enough charge to get her going.

Over the next hour I'm on the lot with tools in hand and at least 8 different people came over to talk about the bike. Of course I happen to mention to each of them that the battery is dead. They all seemed to be so mesmerized by the Vision that not one heard anything that sounded like I needed a hot shot.

I finally tried to kick start it (is that possible?), and someone came to my rescue. Got it started, but only after talking for nearly 10 minutes about all of the good things we both had to say about the VV.

Can it be a curse to look so darn good?

My last bike had this problem once every season until I installed the star washers. I knew it was time when she started getting sluggish, then would stall when put I on the brakes or turn signal.

Once it happened on the highway, so was laying under bike removing, losing, tightening things when a cop pulled up. He sauntered up and told me he had a report a biker was dead alongside the road. After I assured him I was not dead I got to thinking perhaps the person that reported it could have stopped to check, but hey, at least they reported it.
