| Don't know how many of you get this magazine but, there was an interesting article in there about the 2011 Victories. What I found most intriguing was their mention of an improved transmission for the Cross C/R.
As a lot of C/R owners have complained about transmission noise, I wanted you to hear this statement and I quote CW, "One of our complaints with the 2010 Cross Country was its whiny, semi-uncooperative gearbox. Whine no more: For 2011, Victory has overhauled its six-speed overdrive transmission--- complete with new engine cases---and produced a motorcycle that shifts as well as it does everything else. Along with tighter tolerances and bigger, stronger gears comes a raft of benefits: a 66-percent reduction in driveline lash; ..........., and the reduction in drivetrain noise allows the Victory cruisers to emit a bit more exhaust noise."
Well gang, I guess that's what happens when consumers support a company by buying their new models. We are basically the guinea pigs. I doubt we will ever see any fix for our 2010s, yet alone hear from Victory regarding our concerns. We need to stick together on this one just in case our situation gets worse. Love my 5th gear. |

You are complaining about what? Bad tranny in the early bikes? That Victory has improved itself over and over in the last 10+ years? Turn your radio up and go ride. |

Southeast Iowa | I agree with RedRider...........there is no fix for something that is not broken. New model years bring changes and improvements no matter if it's a motorcycle, boat, car, or even something as simple as a weed-eater. No reason to complain because you got what you bought and if you wait till all the improvements or updates are done then you will never own anything. Kudos for Victory for making a great bike better! |

Moravia, IA | Do you really expect Victory to call up everyone owning last years model and say "hey come on in and get all the new improvements and changes we put on this years bikes"?
......or would you rather them just never change or improve anything.
Im not really sure what you realistically expect. |

| Boy, I wonder what guy's who own(ed) 99's would think about tranny issues. I think it shows Victory does listen to the VOC (voice of the customer) and is dedicated to continually improving. I'll admit that I'm a little angry / jealous over seeing all the improvements to the vision, but I'm also proud to be an original 08 owner. I still remember getting a phone call from a Victory engineer asking me how I liked my Vision. He took notes and even admitted the issues I had were not uncommon. This was a couple months after I bought the bike. So, I guess I'm a little jealous and proud at the same time. Go figure. |

Durango, Colorado | Did you test ride your bike before buying? Transmission noise so offensive you decided to pass? Wrote letters to the engineering dept. for updates on future improvements? You rode it... You LOVED it..... You bought it! Where's the injustice? |

Don't we all buy something to have the replacement model come out with a few more bells and whistles along with annoyances fixed that you didn't know about until someone pointed them out?  Happens to me all the time. I got an iPad and I bet you the next one (in six months) will have a camera on it. Cars are no different, either. |

ricvic: My 1979 Ford F150 was the best truck in the world when I bought it (in my mind at the time). Now I have an 2005 F150 and to me it's awesome. I would love to still have the '79 if it were still around, though it didn't even compare to my newer one. BTW I don't think Ford would offer to upgrade the old one even if I still owned it, and it's laughable to even think they should.
Enter Victory and their continuing process of improving and upgrading there products. I own a 2010 Vision, and I'd love to have one of the originals that rolled of the line in July of 1999, wouldn't that be awesome. And what an ass I would be if I did own one and put some idiotic comment on line about it being substandard to my current bike and that Victory owed me something because I was silly enough to buy the '99.
And than you plead on this forum for us to stick together and stand up to those that are using us as "guinea pigs"????? Are you out of your mind?!!
In all the years I've owned and ridden motorcycles I've never ridden more or enjoyed a bike as much as I do my '10 Vision. I think I'll keep it and the the smile I can't get off my face. ;-) |

Harley changes someting on it's Big Twins to make them smoother or better each year, Victory and all other manufacturers do the same.....Other wise we'd be riding side valve engines.............Want a used 53 Indian Chief ???

Spfld, IL but temp Bay area, CA | Like ScoreBo, my only regret with my 08 Vision, is that I found out about the 10th Anniversary models about 2 months after my purchase.
Had I known, they were going to offer those and only make 100 of them, I definitely would have waited and tried my damndest to get one of those brand new.
I still think that red and black is the best Vision color of all. |

I love my "Northern Canada Original Tire & Shock Air" and especially love whatever the hell oil my dealer puts in. I even love the gear noise. ENOUGH!!!
