Just recently, I noticed that my 09 Vision has a habit of stalling out at intersections.  Has not always done this.  I just had Lloyd install a new intake and VFCIII during the AVR . . . rest of power system is stock including pipes.  The bike is running excellent other than this intermittent stalling condition.  It did not do this before the install. The electrical system seems to be OK as I can just hit the starter switch and it fires back up.

Can any of you that have had this condition and have a VFCII let me know which setting I most likely need to adjust to get rid of this condition.  Here are my current settings that Lloyd set up @ AVR:

G = 3.0

Y = 3.5

R = 1.0

G/B = 2.5

Y/B = 3.5

R/B = 3.0

Thanks!

Are you a blipper? Do you wrap the throttle a little when you pull the clutch lever in coming to a stop or right before you take off? This often results in killing the engine. Also, a green setting of 3 seems like allot for a stock bike as well as the yellow at 3.5, but Lloyd installed it and I would not dare to question his genius.... But I do know for a fact the G/B is only used for nitrous equipped bikes for extra fuel enrichment when you hit the button. Every Vision I know of with a VFC and no nitrous has the green/blue set to zero....

The green/blue should be zero (0). It is easy enough to set a number wrong, or should I say set two of them the same. The g/b is for if you add nitrous. All other numbers look OK and I would not second guess them.

Why is that? Coming from my vtx I always like to rev engine while down shifting,
And with the vision if I do that and try to pull out it stalls? Can you explain why? Is it a idle issue? I also think I need to replace exhaust gaskets cause I do get some poping...but is weird. If I don't do anything rev out normal at a light it pulls out beautifully...just can't rev up and down out it will stall...I was thinking I'm not used to fuel injection...

Not a blipper. It kinda "coasts down to dead." Hasn't done it since I posted tho . . . maybe that has solved it. I will take nitrous down to "0" . . . I'm sure it was just an oversite. How do I know if I have the old, hard exhaust gaskets vs the new softer ones? I think it was mid 2009 production year when they changed them.

Mine stalled out the other day for the first time ever. I was approaching my driveway on a 55 mph road. I had downshifted through the gears and when I went into 2nd things went very quiet, looked down at the tach and it was at zero. Hit the starter and it started right up. My bike is stock as far as the engine and exhaust go

I want to keep this thread alive, as my '09 Vision is experiencing a stall condition after coming to a stop, & then taking off again. I have Lloydz Intake Plate & VFC III, stock exhaust,stock cams & originally had my settings like Man314, except G/B was 0. I emailed Llyod & he suggested setting G to 3.5 & Y/B to 5.5, I did & problem got worse. Rode today, temps were in the mid 80's & played around with different settings without any luck. Lloyd did mention the problem seems to worsen with higher temps & he said he is going to do more testing to see what is happening so that it can be corrected hopefully. Don't get me wrong, the products have really woke my Vision up, but I'm to the point where I don't trust it around town & thinking of removing the VFC III. Has anybody came up with a solution that they care to share & secondly, has anyone had these symptoms after the VM1 cam install?

I talked to my dealer about a similar symptom I'm having with my vision. He suggested I remove my right cheese wedge and inspect the hoses. He said there was a problem with loose/cracked hose(s) that would cause a vacuum leak. He suggested I spray some short bursts of carb cleaner. If the idle rpm changes, isolate, repair or replace. He said it was a common problem on the '08's. I haven't had time to check mine.

...I talked with another Vision rider that replaced his header gaskets and nearly eliminated his popping. The gaskets that he showed me was way worse that mine. Before you kill yourself and spend time and dollars on fixes, check the header gaskets first! To simple to eliminate and it may be the source of all your problems. If you have checked, cleaned and replaced them, then I can agree there are other problems.

Tonyj,

Try taking green down to 2.5.  I left a similar message and Bri called back saying to try taking Green down one click.  Seems to work fine.

Glad to hear you got good results with that setting...I pulled mine off last night though. I'm seriously considering getting some exhaust & replacing the exhaust gaskets over the winter, so it will eventually be put back on.

I installed my VFCIII myself and set it up according to the recommended settings in the instructions.  In tweaking it, I found if the green light was set too light (3 or 3-1/2) I had occasional stalling like you experienced.  Bumping it up to 4 eliminated that problem completely.
