We now have around a 7 or 8 slip on mufflers to choose from, is anyone producing a high performance full length ( head to muffler ) exhaust system ??

From what I've read a increasing diameter pipe would work well on a 106 and even better on a 114. Rinehart can ya hear me ??

The Vision seems to me to present an bit of a quandry to pipe designers. Take two pipes in particular, the RPW two into one and the thunderheader slip-ons. Two into one systems on Harleys do not really have to work hard to make good numbers excepting the ones that do not maintain velocity in the headers by going to increased diameter tubes. There are quite a few good running 2-1 systems from numerous makers. Then there is probably the worst performing set ofslip-ons to run on a dresser, that being a pair of thunderheader slip ons. They are very loud and just do not work. The Vision seems to flip the table on both of them, RPW seems to not make power up top and the Tundercones make all kinds of torque, go figure.

Wonder if a full system exhaust will eliminate the popping caused from leaks?

You are right about the RPW pipe. I ran a 2-into-1 pipe on most of my HDs with good results. When I switched to victorys the RPW was the only 2 into 1 I could find. I though it would really perform well. At the AVR this year I had the cams put in and Lloyd put it on the dyno. The final #s were 103.13 and max torque was 109.80. The pipe didn't do as well as I thought it would.
There was a vision there with the thundersticks and I think it made 110 and 114. Kind of wish I would have went that way.

I guess the 2-1 from RPW is a little too restrictive. One reason for not much builder interest for complete pipes would be 1) there just ain't that many Visions around ( YET ) and 2) no one races Victory's, I know the occasional Land speed guy and some drag racers ( they use open reverse cone megaphones or open drag pipes ) but in comparison to Harleys, the numbers are very small. I mean shit, there are a dozen such race systems for the XR-1200 and there haven't even been 4000 of them produced, but it's being raced in a sanction series. But I do believe some one will tap into this market sometime. As the numbers of Visions and Cross Country's increase it will be profitable for some one to gin up production. Seems like best option now is the slip ons and hope you have a good exhaust seal at the head.......

09ness, I was not dissing on the RPW system, If I can remember it does pretty good down low. Myself two up and loaded I look for power 2-3500 RPM. Sixth gear roll on is where it is at for me, if you are at red line all the time with your Vision there are probably other bikes that would serve you better. Just my .02
