Kincardine, Ontario, Canada | Dealer installed the felt strips, that didn't help.
Dealer then got me 2 bumpers that fit on either side of the light switch, that has eliminated that annoying trunk rattle that I put up with last year.
If you are having a problem with the trunk rattling, the bumpers work. I know other Vision riders have come up with their own mods, some very good ideas, but this was a simple fix.
Next on the list is installing the 50 LED's I have for a 3rd brake light |

Ruskin, Fl | Do you know if that is a polaris part or did the dealer come up with their own fix? I have tried a few fixes that only last for a few weeks before the squeak/rattle return. |

Cabot Arkansas | My dealer installed the full kit, felt and bumpers and it stopped the rattle's for about a month. I tried a few of the other fixes but the rattles always come back.Now I just turn up the radio or wear a fullface helmet and pretend the rattle is gone .Funny thing is my wife's Vision trunk is almost rattle free and it has had nothing done to it  |

as you can see, I am still incompetent when it comes to adding photos.

VA | If I see this correct, the bumpers really just take up the "slack" when the trunk is closed, right? Does it make it harder to close? Also, those look like the type of rubber bumpers you could get at a hardware store, would you mind measuring the depth of them? I'll go out and get some today and install them and see if it takes care of my rattle. Thanks!!! -sharc |

To answer Victoryvisiontour's question, it must do a good seal, so good, that I couldn't see that the trunk light was still on because the bumpers prevent the operation of the trunk light switch.
And for Divesharc, they measure 0.940" proud of the trunk lid, with a 7/16" hole for them be pushed into.
Now for what makes me say @#$% is why wouldn't Victory tell you that your trunk light switch is now useless and make sure you turn off the light manually SO THAT IT DOESN'T DRAIN YOUR FRICK'N BATTERY!!!!
What I also discovered is that I don't have the factory pigtail for charging. I ended pulling the battery because my automotive battery charger's clips are too big and awkward to fit onto the small battery posts.
The only good I see from all of this, is that is gives me more room to mount the 3/8" wide LED's that I am eventually going to use for a 3rd brake light |

We use these for the Goldwing. http://www.dixonymachine.com/RBBB.htm It does make the trunk harder to close, but they want you to keep it that way for awhile before you do any triming. I finally trimmed them after 1 year. This is why I have always closed my Vision's trunk by pulling back on the passenger's backrest. I was pretrained from the Goldwing. Also, some goldwing folks were putting cracks in the trunk by pushing down on the luggage racks. Pulling back on the passenger backrest prevents that as well.

Well, I have been there myself, but it was because we didn't close the lid after an outing. It don't take but a few days, and she's dead.  THANK YOU for the warning.

Pittsburgh, PA | recently my trunk rattle has gotten worse and worse! today i went to open my trunk to get something out and i noticed it didnt just open UP. it was wiggling side to side. So i then seen the hinge was loose.. so behind the right speak is where the hidge mounts too. one of the bolts were missing and the other one was just about to fall out.. ! might want to check those buggers |

Hartland, , WI | Could have had these installed this spring and took a pass...nice engineering fix (NOT)...put these big rubbers into the seam to push the lid up and put pressure on the light weight metal latches to lock the top down...no thanks. The noise is from the rattle from the metal latches have some play you hear when they vibrate with the bumps.
The Victory fix is budgeted for the mechanic to use 90 minutes for the job...take the whole trunk apart and drill holes...blaa, blaa....anyone snap that light metal latch yet? Check out the BMW blog site and do a search for trunk latch and have fun reading that one...same concern here. |

Memphis | For you guys that have tried everything and still have a rattle back there, look at your rear speaker grills. My screws were tight but the right/rear grill still had an annoying rattle. The bottom of the grill has a tab that slides into a slot. The tab only takes up about half the space of the slot (top to bottom). I made a flat little wedge out of the tip of a wooden paint stick. (About 1/4" wide and 1/2" long.) I put it on the tab and slid it into the slot. Tight as a drum and for the first in three years my bike is 100% rattle/buzz free. The left side is quiet but as soon as it makes a sound, I'll know where to look. |

New Bohemia, VA | The trunk latch should be adjustable, that is where I see the problem is. I had mine packed once and though it shut and locked, it had about a 1/4" gap in the back. The spring pushers have a nice little groove in them making it more sloppy, not complaining, just contemplating on what to do. If it were possible, I'd pull the trunk apart and make the holes slidders, so that I could bring it down tighter. As far as the rattles go, I think I've tuned them out. |
