When I purchased my Vision new, the Dealer had some incentive store credit, and I used it to upgrade my exhaust, and add Gatlin Tips. Now, the Gatlin Tips are obvious, but how can I be sure of the L1S1? The exhaust sounds better than stock, but when I looked at the air filter, it appears to be a paper one. Shoudn't the air filter be a different one? The Dealer has closed, and I looked thru the paper work, and nothing addresses it.

If you go to my gallery and on page 4 there is are three pictures of a stage 1 level 1 kit. It shows an air filter which is not a paper filter but an element filter that can be cleaned and re-oiled. The pictures also show the inlet and outlet of the muffler.

Thanks, Tex. Best I can figure, looking at the pipes, they are right. Perhaps they overlooked the air filter.

Don't feel bad. My dealer not only didn't put in the filter, he didn't install the L1S1 flash! I didn't know for several months, and when I found out and called him on it, he sent me the filter at no cost. But claimed he did not know about the flash, and did not think it was necessary. When I told him it was a part of the L1S1 kit, he claimed it wasn't, and that there was no such flash. Anyway, I got tired of arguing with him, and ended up at another dealer, who did the flash, and made sure everything was up to speed. The good part was I now have a great dealer!

Good luck.

Wizard523,

My original dealer pulled the same deal with me and did not install the Flash. I kept complaining about lack of bottom end torque and "running too lean". I was promised all was OK.

I took it to another dealer who PRINTED the data on my Vision which showed the STOCK MAP not the S1L2 Map.

Get the dealer to print out the data .... it will have your VIN on it.

iluvink, if you don't have the flter, but have the performance that you want I wouldn't do anything that will cost you. If you not running very lean and the bike starts and runs fine, your probably ok. If you want more performance, then I would look into a fuel controller and an intake plate. When I installed the stage 1 L1 package, I rode the bike for awhile without the flash as I installed the mufflers and filter myself. I did not see a bike boost in performance from stock until I put in the intake plate from Lloydz. In my opinion, it is the biggest boost in performance for the money.

Well, when it come times for the air filter to change, I'll consider the step up. But for now, I'll leave it be. Still might take it to another Dealer, and see what the map sez. Reckon how much they would charge for that?
