I took my first group ride on Sunday. Not my FIRST group ride, but my first with the local folks. I've posted it on the blog and have included a few photos including one of very cool Jackpot and a few of the Vision with the trunk removed.

Check it out at: http://gadgetguru.com/Victory%20Vision%20Blog.htm#031008

As always, feel free to leave comments here.

Thanks,

Andy

One thing I learned when I was writing a weekly, national newspaper column is that you run into all types. If you're lucky, occasionally someone will state their appreciation for your work. But more often than not, people will criticize you for any number of reasons ranging from a disagreement with a stated opinion or critique of a product they have already purchased, to a specific reader not appreciating your writing style.

My answer was always simple: Where were you when I was staring at a blank page?

Hey, I enjoy writing and decided to blog about my experiences with the Vision at the time of purchase as other than the magazine reviews, there were few if any independent opinions available online. Hopefully, a potential Vision purchaser will read about my experiences and learn if this is the right bike for their usage. I'm happy to report, that so far, the bugs are minimum and I'm still very impressed with this bike. I am highly recommending it to friends. I even have a few H-D and Goldwing guys wanting to take a test drive.

Another great read Andy.  Your writing was certainly a positive encouragement when I was researching the Vision.

I have yet to go on my first group ride so I'm so glad you mentioned 'KSU'.  Now, I won't be clueless.

Thanks Innkeepers. It was a great day. It was fun when we would stop for fuel or food and the H-D guys would come up to take a look at the Vision and scratch their heads.

I can tell you this, there is no problem finding my bike when it's parked in a lot with a lot of other bikes...it just stands out.

Imagine what would happen if you heard this announcement over a P.A. system: "Will the driver of the Black Harley please report to the parking lot as you left your lights on?" It would be fun to a bunch of the patrons quickly run out of the restaurant to check their bike.

Being different is a good thing. Riding a superior bike is better.

As I stated in the most recent installment, ol' Slick handled even rough roads with grace, style and comfort. The only thing that is hurting since I got the bike is my golf game as I've been logging too much seat time.

Andy, I've enjoyed reading about your adventures with Slick. I don't post often, but wanted to let you know that your work has been appreciated.

All right Mr. Labor of Love. Well done! Like you need my Kudos for the swelling of the gray matter. A ride is just that and it is your opinion on your own Blog. It is always good to get out and meet the masses, especially those who ride the other kind of bike who scratch their head as to what they have encountered. There will always be an Acronym somewhere that I won't undertand. If I tell you slimy Wog or Shellback would you happen to know what either of those terms are. I didn't till I joined the Navy. So as for their KSU or RSD or SSU or SHLAM (Shoelaces hanging low and Mean) or my personal favorite Computer Term PEBKAC Error (Problem exist between Keyboard and Chair), so be it make another one. I am kinda confused as to why a RETIRED (note the word retired) guy couldn't make it to the designated meeting point or why he had to bail out before the end of the ride. Was the Starbuck's barrista girl calling you? HMM I wonder?

Thanks PBR for making me miss my ride all the more, come on Friday! I'll get home around 7pm and I'll be KSU by 7:30pm. If I had the time I'd ride a Harley right about now. Keep on writing, I hope they'll put your link in the Victory magizine as well as others so folk can vicariously ride with you from KSU to KSD for those who don't pilot a Vision.

I wish she was calling me!

I peeled off the ride as they were headed a different direction than I was. The were going South and I was headed East. That's also why I joined them In Progress as this way I didn't have to back-track. It as still a 200+ mile ride with great weather.

P.S. I enjoy your posts. It's nice to see you "call 'em as you see 'em.

Your welcome will continue to call'em and chew'on'em as I see'um. As they say, Cashola affords a much hotter younger hottie, working at Starbucks she has got to be early twentiessomethinghottie. See if she likes the bike and then ride on.
