Hi

I am still a ViVi wannabe, however, I have been researching the bike for about the last year or so and I am ready to take the plunge.

I have read pretty much everything that I could find and have noticed that quite a few owners have made suggests on things that they would like to see on the Vision. I am curious to know if anyone has info on what changes/additions we can expect on the next generation Vision? Also, has anyone heard when they will be rolling out the 2009 model?

Thanks

Gerry

Gerry, I owned a 04 Kingpin prior to the Vision, so I'm going to speculate. Because of what I've seen with the other Victory bikes over the last 5 years, you probably won't see a lot of differences on next years Vision. Now as far as the next generation of Visions, that is probably wide open........they are going to want me to trade in my present Vision some day.

Hey Guys

Thanks for your comments/info......Oct 08....UGH!!.....Ha Ha....I was hoping for Jun-Jul. I may still wait. I am traveling to the mainland the end of May for a test ride so who knows what will happen in the heat of the moment.

As for changes/upgrades, this would be unfortunate if Victory did not implement at least some of the owner suggestions out there, even just the most common.

I guess we shall have to wait and see, until then I guess its just me and old faithful (my 86 Shadow)

Thanks Again

Bring your check book. Once you ride you'll be hooked and won't be able to go back home unless you are on your Vision. Trust me on this one. The ride is too phenominal to be concerned over some creature comforts that has nothing to do with the overall experience. Just my opinion and I've heard there is a saying about those...

I have been reading your blog....outstanding write-up...And yes I have already been warned about test riding. I went to a bike show in Vancouver awhile back and my wife, who was also away on business, called to see how the show was and to ask what color I had decided on because she fully expected me to be riding home.....God Bless Her.....she understands and support as she has her own bike as well.

Radioteacher -

I don't know when the custom order starts for the 2009, but, I would be extremely interested to find out....I will do the same for you if I find out.

Thanks
Gerry

Gerry,

The day the Custom Order Program starts (or it is announced) for 2009, I am thinking that a new thread will begin right here at Vision-Riders.com.

I only have four more Trailblazer payments and the light truck is mine. Then I will order the 2009 Vision.

Hi Gerry,

I scooped this from VRA Insider:

"If your travels take you near Spirit Lake, Iowa, home of the Victory Final Assembly plant, this spring, note that April 23 will be the final day that factory tours will be offered until late July (around July 24).

Why? Because the plant will be making any necessary adjustments to the line so they can produce the 2009 models. And once production of the ‘90s begins, the door is closed to the public until the new lineup is introduced at the annual national sales meeting. The new models will be introduced to Victory dealers first – on or about July 24 (we'll confirm this date for you) – and they are introduced on the Victory website at virtually the same time.

Be patient. The plant will re-open for tours in time for the American Victory Rally, August 15-16. Plus, the 2009 models will be available in Victory Demo Rides at Sturgis and at the American Victory Rally.

Se remember, April 23 is the final day for Spirit Lake plant tours until late July."

Hope this helps.

I doubt that 09 will bring any significant changes. Victory appears like they have their hands full trying to tweak issues from the first model year launch. They are also behind on custom parts (still waiting on some of my chrome!!!!) and need a chance to get caught up. I would look for them to correct existing issues, change the colors, offer a few more accesories, and release an Arlen Ness version of the Vision. Just my best guess based on their past performance.
