And I am HOOKED!!!

Today was the go/no go decision for me. I couldn't believe how well the bike handled.

As soon as my dealer finds the Midnight Cherry Tour Premium, the wife and I are going to be two happy campers.

Needless to say, I'm stoked.

Any advice before I sign on the dotted line? Anything I should consider, watch out for, or consider adding before I sign on the dotted line?

Thanks in advance, and I look forward to hearing from all of you.

Breaker,

You just made the most important decision in your motorcycling life. My advice is to read as much of this forum and past posts as possible.

That's what I did for the two days between my test ride, and my purchase. These folks on this board are all here to help you.

The only recommendation I can add is to see if they will offer a discount for the extended warranty at the time of purchase. You have a full year to exercise this option, but there's no guarantee the price will remain the same when it's time to renew.

Other than that, take your time to get to know the bike in slow maneuvering. You will pick it up quickly with a some basic empty parking lot practice.

Also, I'm in the habit of taking the safety school EVERY TIME I buy a new bike. It's amazing all the basics you've forgotten. And you'll meet some great guys.

Finally, of my 12 bikes I've owned over the years, the Vision is by far the best I've owned. I usually don't keep bikes long, but I have a feeling she will be with me a long time and we will develop some wonderful memories and make lots of new friends together.

Negotiate free install for any add-ons you order with initial purchase. Oil change interval is an issue. How much will they charge for scheduled maintenance?

How much will you get for referral traffic you send his way? I screwed up big-time on this one.

You are gonna be one happy idiot. Welcome to the club!

See if they will give a discount on add-ons for the bike. Mine gave a 10% discount, but all that really covers here in WA is the sales tax! I did manage to get them to give me a freebie tee-shirt, tho, as the hat they gave me I would never wear...just not a hat guy! Another thing: if you are into the latest accessories, you may want to consider a more up-to-date GPS, and a bluetooth helmet setup in leiu of the corded ones that Victory sells...they are nearly the same price, and cords are a pain!!!------Metalguy

First, Welcome to the new way to motorcycle. I think the biggest thing to look out for is when you leave the dealer, watch your speed. This bike rides like your doing 50 when you're doing 80 and it is very easy to get there.

Other than that, I agree that you need to shop around for deals, but remember your dealer also has to eat too, so be a good friend to them and the should take care of you. Hopefully they'll find your MCTP for you soon, they may be scarce. Fortunetly my was a pre-order that got turned down, I had a deposit for one in the spring. I was able to take delievery in November has been the best purchase I have made by far in my life.

Breaker, congrats on your pending purchase. I purchased an extended warranty 5yr, also a maintenance contract. It is a 30,000 mile contract, so everything is covered for the first 30k even mounting new tires.
Take a very close look at the bike..........some have a small crease on the saddle bag, a lot of folks are upset about this, so discuss this with the dealer. Also, if there is a selection of Visions some may not have the crease.
The Vision is very quite, I would suggest putting on the Stage 1 Level 1 mufflers, plus other very nice accessories. Get the dealer to install free or give you a discount.
The last thing before you sign, put the pen down and look the salesman in the eye and say, hey, I really need new helmets for my wife and I........ I did this and got new Nolan N-42 thrown in on the deal. Your going to do better asking for stuff, then getting much off the price of the bike.
Good Luck and have fun.

Good luck with your bike, I hope they find what your looking for. I test rode in January and odered mine a week later with another dealer for a 500 dollar discount and a 3 year free warranty of which I' ll add 3 to it. I couldn't stop smiling after my test ride and was wondering how I was going to tell my wife why I needed this more than my 2002TC. She understood that I am a hopeless biker looking for that ultimate ride, so she gave in. Said she's gonna wear a Jane Jetson sticker on her helmit. What does she mean?! This will be my third Victory since 1999. My friends have bought my 99 and 02. The dealers I've visited seemed to be as sold on these bikes as me...I could go on forever. The dealer that sold me my last 2 Victorys is a Harley Dealer and he's been riding a victory since 2000. Go figure! Good luck.

WELCOME to vision riders addiction and consultation site. We are a burly bunch of politically non correct bikers, who happen to love our Visions! Great choice! The advice given, although laced with sarcasm and humor is usually spot on. Your in good hands, just don't take us or yourself too seriously!
