I was at my Vision/Arlen Ness dealer last evening when the service boss, Erik came up and asked how all was going with the Vision. I chatted for a bit 'splaining about what we cover on Vision-Riders.com.

I mentioned to him about us short legged folk wishing there was some kind of reverse. He said that they're in the process of developing a process to lower the Vision. Cost will run $1,000.00 more or less. It includes disassembling the rear end. Machining down the shock rod. Machining/cutting away some of the fender/chassis etc. He didn't go into full detail, but they will be able to report more on the process in the next couple of weeks.

Anyone else hear of something like this?

I figure if a guy pays 1000.oo plus for a Garmin, I can use a map. Instead I can have it lowered for the price of an electronic map.

Last weekend I got to my dad's in Kingman, AZ and the bike slowly sunk into his packed sand driveway while I was inside his house visiting. Luckily I could ride out, but I couldn't push it backward solo. Lowered a few inches, I might've got the leverage. Tit for tat as they say you know!

While I enjoyed the reverse on the Goldwing, I'm not finding that it's necessary on the Vision. All I did was buy a new pair of good boots with sticky soles and now backing up is easier. However, it would be nice not to think about parking on a down slope.

I only paid $300 for my Garmin (Thanks, Ebay) and the lowering was free. Just use less air pressure in the shock...

Spoke to Eric also when they put the 21 inch front wheel on my bike, he has a vision that they are lowering now and doing a bunch of other trick stuff to, guess the guy who ownes the bike is owner of a casino so money is no problem. Eric said the cost of all the extras is going to cost in the area of $8000.
That Is a great shop they are running at Ness Eric and the other guys are awesome to deal with, Eric is gonna call me when that bike gets done so I will take pics and post..

You're right Shane, Eric is great! (I guess I spelled his name wrong with a "k") So's all his staff, the parts staff, sales staff and finance besides. I think the staff at Arlen Ness Las Vegas is the best in town. Besides, I've purchased at all major m/c dealers here in town, and that's my opinion!

I knew the "to be lowered" bike was getting a transformation, but wow, that's going to be one worth studying eh? Looking forward to some pics Shane!

As far as using the air pressure for "lowering" I think not for me. I need the higher pressure end 'cause me and my ladyfriend are pushing the load limit envelope already! The lowered version will still be adjustable thru the whole range!

And determing whether to use a Navigation system versus a map, out west here we have about 1/20th or less the amount of roads to get lost on as back east of the divide. (Excluding of course the major Metro areas). All-in-all, I suppose it would be nice to have!
