I've got a 2010 Vision Tour with dealer-installed XM radio, and I'm disappointed with the reception. The XM signal cuts out with the slightest blockage (such as a few trees by the side of the road), and sometimes quits when I'm in a wide open space. I've had several cars with XM or Sirius, and they all got much better reception. Can anyone tell me where the antenna is? Can I augment it somehow?

Thanks!

My antenna is mounted on the glare shield above the instrument panel, and behind the windshield. Mine is also dealer installed on my 2008. Very little cut out due due trees, and I'm in Mass and ride the backroads of Mass, RI, Conn and New Hampshire mostly. Activated the XM because of the poor FM radio reception. The BEST thing I have done for the Vision. The XM plays louder and clearer than the FM radio

The mechanic at my dealer says the antenna was installed "under the fairing," which is what the instructions call for on the 2010 Vision. I'm all in favor of a nice sleek look, but installing a satellite radio antenna underneath opaque fiberglass seems stupid to me. I'm going to ask them to move it so it's exposed to the sky...they might have to order new cable or other accessories.

There are three GPS Antenna mounts from www.ram-mount.com that might help you to find different places to put your XM antenna. I am playing with the Garmin 2820 GX30 and one of these brackets..

RAM-344U
RAM-348U
RAM-338U

the RAM-348U might work well for the Vision XM Antenna. I am using the RAM-344U.

Cheers..

Thanks for the advice, folks. The dealer repositioned the antenna to the glare shield, where it's exposed to the sky (covered only by the windshield). The XM reception is now perfect.
