I was planning on upgrading the speakers on my Vision. I have read many post on others and I tried a set of Alpines and they were not any better than the stock speakers because of the fact that the output level of the stereo is low not to say that its bad just low. I drive an hour to and from work and have to have my helmet on because of going into WV. So I need more power. I looked at the HAWG unit and thats way outa my price range so here is what I am doing. I purchased a Jensen 4 channel amp 100watt per channel($65) and 2 sets of marine speakers front Infinity($63) back Pyle($25) and when I get it all in I will post pictures on how to install everything. I am not trying to make money nor take away anyones bus just looking for an afordable cost alternative to $800 bucks. The amp will have to mount in one of the saddle bags but will still have room in it for other stuff. The speakers will fit in the stock holes and use stock hardware to mount them. If anyone needs more info on were to get it all wait untill its all hooked up and I will do a video on the difference in sounds and put it on Youtube. Now if any of you have thoughts please let me know thanks. Dain

Dain, What type of helmet are you running? I ran a pudding bowl for years with my upgraded to J&M speakers. About 20% better than stock because it didn't distort above level 15 compared to stock. I wouldn't say it improved the sound quality. If anything, it reduced the highs and lowered the overall sound range quality. But I can max it out now with little distortion. I recently installed the Vic CB and am running the J&M Elite headset in my new 3/4 helmet and like listening to music so much better than before. I can now play my 'sissy' playlist without being embarrassed! You'll still be at $800 after it's all said and done with increased functionality (CB, intercom and listening privacy). I am sure others will be interested in your final setup if you go down that route.

I have a 3/4 helmet. How do you figure I will still be at $800 dollars. Let me see $63 for the front speakers $25 for the back and $65 for the amp and $10 for the wires thats $163 for the whole thing. Speaker from J&M would have cost me $178 for front and rear and won't be no near as loud with an amp to back up the speakers and the J&M's don't have tweeters from what i'm told. But if I run into more cost than that I will let you know. Dain

My stock speakers are really quite good, they are better than the HogTunes I have on my RoadGlide, it's one of the things I really wouldn't consider replacing unless the aftermarket speakers are WAY better than stock.............

Absolutlry agree that in ordere to have good sound quality helment head set is the way to go.\.

Just yesterday I was running a series of errands on the bike. It was 95 degrees so I left the helmet in the top case for a short leg or two. (it is a choice and calculated risk). But the sound quality out the stock speakers is just bad.

I spent the money on CD/communication package along with a Garmin Zumo 550 with XM radio. Worth every penny. Just my $.02.
