| Hey All Well, I have done all sorts of research and gotten some great info (thanks RadioTeacher). For me the most important issue is being able to power my IPOD while it is plugged into my Vision. I originally thought that out there somewhere was an IPOD that would be fully compatible with my Vision, including being able to be charged. Thanks to my research( and Teach - Thanks Again), I have avoided making an unnecessary purchase as currently there is no such IPOD animal. Unless there has been a developement of a new cable that I did not hear of yet. Has there been a new cable developed that will power a Nano (Which ever generattionor)? I really do not want/need to go out and get an iTouch or iPhone. I understand that there is another cable adapter of some sort that I can use, but I am only considering this as a last resort. Thanks in advance for any help, advise and patience as I realize I am somewhat electronically challenged... LOL |

San Antonio, TX | Check out this thread. His Vision is an 2008 but it looks like the new cable works for all iPod Nano's.

The more I look at the iPod threads the more I wonder if there are Three different iPod Cables.
I will try to search the part numbers and find out.

Woodland Hills, CA | I have an iPod hooked up to my Vision, and it works fine (and charges), and has for well over a year and a half. OK, I know the next question: Which iPod is it. Sorry, but without looking, I don't know, but it is an older one (a Nano I think) with a flash drive.
Anyway, it seems that as iPod's have evolved, for some reason they change their plugs such that even an older Apple charger will not work on the newer iPods. (I know this because I have purchased 3 newer iPod's over the past year or so, and none of them worked with my older chargers.) I did, however, purchase an adapter from a local Apple store that plugs between the newer model iPod's and the older cables, and it works fine. Having said that, I have NOT yet tried the adapter on the Vision, so I can't report on how it works on the bike. But if anyone would be interested, I can give it a try and report back. Just let me know. |
