Would an ipod classic (one with the hard drive) be ok in my pants pocket while riding the VV? I won't be plugging it into the bike, rather into headphones. I know having it in/attached to the bike would destroy the harddrive, but you think in a pants pocket it'd protect it enough from the vibrations?

Stick it in an inner vest pocket and you won't be putting any external pressures on the case, I carry my i phone in my shirt or vest pocket and listen to what I want to hear while shopping instead of the 'elevator' version of Purple Haze (GAKK!) on the stores marketcaster canned music and it's never shown any desire to jump out and hit the floor.

Here in minnesota its against the law to have ear phones in both ears. Check your law and add state and bike to your profile to help you and us out

I'll put a sign with bike and whatnot. But the headphone thing won't be an issue. I plug it into my J&M Integratr which plays it through speakers in the helmet. I do wear earplugs, but that's legal US wide.

I've thought (briefly) about using headphones, but it's against too many state laws, against my work policy, and frankly it would block out so MUCH noise I'd be worried.

It is only when the classic is plugged into jack theat it has the crash problem. Needs hard wire to carry the disruptive frequency to the device

I've always loved the fact that I can't use ear phones but the 17 year old punk next to you in traffic can have a 1000 watt system making the glass in his HONDA flex and the trunk lid buzz.
Nothing beats equal treatment does it?
