Practical:
+1 on the handle bar option, a little bit of adjustability without having to drop 3 bills to experiment would be nice.
Longer floorboards. Yep LONGER!

Stylistic:

Replace the graphic in the lighted "tank" badges.

Update the logo to something that doesn't resemble a WW2 aircorps insignia, and remove the Polaris name while they're at it. A company that builds machines as forward thinking as the Vision, the Core and the new X bikes shouldn't be saddled with a logo that looks like it was designed by the guy that illustrated the community chest cards in Monopoly.

If there has to be a reference to the parent company, a graphic representation of the north star in the logo should be enough. If the Polaris affiliation is important to the marketing effort the stress it in the literature. The logo should be Victory's alone.

After reading all the lists and thinking about some changes I'd like to have. The bike won't be a Victory Vision!

I have been changing a few things, adding many things, and wishing the time to do more things.
Problem that seems to arise.
we spend so much time working on and changing bike that we have to little time to ride bike!
I think we are all Harley want--a-be's (I.E. Wash, fix, polish bike on Saturday, park in front of Biker Bar on Sunday).

I just want-a-ride!

Lowtone, your post caught my attention. Can you please explain what you meant by "paint that doesnt fall off when you look at it"?
That is the first time I have heard of such a problem/comment, and have not seen any such issue on my own bike. So I and im sure
several of us would be interested to hear what the issue is with your bike. Thanks (might want to do an original post and not attach it to this topic as it may not get read) Mac.

I think it's pretty well documented already. Paint on, at least, some of the early black bikes was crappy. I don't think there is a clearcoat. Nada clearcoat. If you breath on it, it scratches. If you sneeze on it, paint flakes off. My dealer concurs, and says tough shit.

To me, it isn't a huge deal. To me, there are no huge deals with this bike, just niggles. Like the seat. I wish they hadn't put that dumbass ridge right down the middle of the seat.

My changes:

- Integrated tire pressure monitor

- "On the fly" adjustable rear shock and headlight

- Adjustable cooling vents built into the fairing

- Gas cap door that would stand up to a crosswind from the left when open

- 5000 mile oil change interval

SongFan, are you working on in flight refueling?

I hope so, I've been wanting that since day one....

1. Standardize on a bolt head size throughout the bike. Other bike I need only 8mm and 10mm sockets to take apart almost anything. The Vision has several size hex and socket head screws that require many tools to disassemble anything.

2. Reduce the number of fasteners throughout the bike. Taking apart any part of the bike is a chore. The bag doors have 7 bolts per hinge. My car door has 3.

3. Easier trunk removal and reinstall. It can be turned into a two cambolt process. Should not have to remove seat, license plate, and body panels to install trunk replacement plate.

4. Victory only logo on tank badges. Current artwork is too busy and distracts from either name (Victory/Polaris).

5. Better armrests for passenger. The seat/truck combo can be extened a bit at the speakers for longer armrests.

6. Adjustable passenger floorboards. They are too low for shorter gals. Raising them puts a longer legged girl's knees in my ribs.

7. Lighted cruise control and radio buttons for night riding.

8. Onboard compressor for rear shock. I ride to work every day. The girlfriend rides on weekends or sometimes I pick her up for lunch. It would be nice to adjust with the touch of a button.

9. Built-in adjustable cooling vents in fairing. Build the Victory optional lower deflectors right into to fairing. They could be flush so they don't interupt the smooth body work.

10. Gas cap door that stays open when refueling. The slightest breeze blows it shut before I can get the nozzle in.

I could ride my Vision as-is without any of these changes and be quite happy. The bike is a step ahead of the competition. These changes along with others in this thread would put it two steps ahead and untouchable.

I've mulled over inflight refueling more than you might think.  (Just to post a video on YouTube if nothing else.)  It's a "handlebar in the way" issue more than anything.

20 miles west of Chicago.
Adjustable clutch lever to match the adjustable brake lever, Did they think people have longer fingers on the left hand than the right?
Optional pullback handlebars, preferably with traditional clamps so they could pivot up and down a bit for adjusment.
As someone else said, an easier way to change out headlight bulbs, which seem to have a high failure rate. A PITA in any circumstance, a real PITA on the road.

Changes I suggest.

Keep the Vision locked in a secure area so I am less inclined to quit working and go ride
Make the seat less comfortable so I am not tempted to do ANOTHER bun burner (1500 miles in 22 hours 32 minutes)
And could they find a way to remove all the power and make it handle worse so I am not tempted to ride fast and get ANOTHER speeding ticket.

I hope Polaris reads this post and immediately implements these changes or I might have a slow spiral into a life of riding whenever I get the urge!

Make the &%$$@^&&(#@@@!!! headlight assembly easier to change the lights!!!

Three weeks ago one of my high beams went out. I spent a couple of hours changing it. I was going to change the other one, too, because I know that in cars, when one light goes, the other ususlly does, too. After the first one, I no longer had the desire to change the second one. Two weeks later, BOTH high beams were out! (I think I got grease on the one I changed). I took it to the dealer to change it, 1) because I didn't want to go through that again that quickly, and 2) just in case it was an electrical issue. It was the bulbs. My wrench said he wishes there was just a half-inch more clearance. It took him several hours to change them, too. Bless his heart; I felt sorry for him!

HUGE + 1 on that, as well as making the side badges easy to access and replace as well.

Lighted switches for the HID, grips, and 4-way on the dash, and light the buttons on the handlebars as well. (Although then I would probably bitch that there were 'too many glowing things' at night.)

The rest I can live with.
